Pool Ball Collecting.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Was the solid green "9" ball a thing?/or some odd mismatch?
not a thing, definitely an odd duck. This is a very early set might even be a sales sample sent over to drum up business.

During this time period Aramith/SAULC was trying to run Hyatt out of business so they were sending over sets by the boat load and selling them for half as much as American made sets.

There are more knowledgeable folks than me in this group but my guess would be a sample set

The seller just sent a message saying the package/some balls was damaged and offered a refund...
I'd take the refund. In my view, anything more than $40 including shipping is too much for that set, and then only if you want a slightly unusual set of early Continentals. And it might not be a set.

Does anyone know when the last set of these were made by brunswick? Am trying to determine if these qualify as 100 year old antiques or not.

Thanks

Hello, everyone.

Just took a very quick snap of something that deserves a far better backdrop and lighting, but thought you might appreciate it anyway.

Behold the three known sizes of Aramith’s beautiful Striped Pokers… 2 inches, 2 1/8th inches and 2 1/4 inches. At the time of writing, I’m reasonably confident a similar image cannot be found anywhere else online… yet.

Best wishes.

Other than completing my set of Burt's double stripes, this set is top of my list.

I stumbled upon this set of balls the other day, I read through the forums and have learned that they are from Crown Games, I have seen others with the set, but not with the case. I was curious if anyone would know the value of this set.

Hello, Mr P.

Welcome to the thread, sir.

That particular poker set has had rather a turbulent history regards pricing and valuations.

When the balls were first released I believe they were priced somewhere around the $200 range… and there they stayed for a couple of years, until someone started selling them by the caseload on eBay for under $100 and valuations naturally plummeted.

Recently, however, this beautiful set seems to have surged in price once more with several examples being advertised north of its original $200 figure.

Best wishes.

Thank you kindly for the info. I love this set, they are gorgeous. I randomly found them and had to have them. Even the case was well done and added to the aesthetic.

I stand to be corrected here because my memory plays up a bit, but I think this set is Kobe resin and was cast for Crown Games by the estimable Vigma of Hong Kong.

Got another chore for you, RB…..the old Crisalates were 2/1-16….the modern ones, if Aramith makes them, are 2/1-15.
