UK “women’s” final

Here's my theory. And at the risk of inflaming Ms. Leigh, Ever argue with a woman? They don't make any sense but they keep firing. I think it's the bicameral mind. ALL 11 cylinders. Doesn't work real well for chess evidently.

The tour is between a rock and a hard place. Whatever they do is going to be wrong. Wrong to let these men play. They face possible and probable discrimination lawsuits if they don't. I like the simple rule that people compete with the gender they are born with. That seems simple enough.

Have a mens tour, a womens tour, and open events. If the events aren't open, then you play with the folks who share your plumbing/born sex.
If these "tours" want to offer the occasional "sponsors" exemptions, so be it. Other than that, this is unfair to the biological women who absolutely deserve their own spaces/level tournaments.
Just another observation from the cheap-seats.

I've had several of these "conversations" with my own Wife. I can't tell you how many things about me, that apparently I didn't even know.

Yes Dear!
😉😁👍

There is plenty of research that finds clear performance gaps between the genders. To claim there is no difference is ignorance. Just because you say there is no difference doesn't make it so, this isn't Kansas. Once the Olympics stops doing all gender specific competitions, then talk to me.

I have often wondered why there should be a difference in pool, I have never seen any research on it. But the numbers are the numbers, no woman comes close to the top men.

There have been a few women over the years that have been able to compete with the best men and at least one lady who was the men's equal playing 3C. However, that is out of millions of ladies so fair to say that they were far from typical. Many years ago I believed the ladies should be able to compete equally with men on the pool table. For whatever reasons it isn't so.

Main difference might be the woman pool is too small.

well it's probably a factor, but it's probably not the only factor.

in equestrian (might've botched that) jumping, there are way more women athletes than men. there's no gender differentiaton in competition. yet men have won way more gold medals.

All this talk got me feelin' ancient. Hell, i can can remember when 'blowin' a tranny' meant you had car trouble. ;)

I was in what amounted to an international chat room when a guy in New Zealand or Australia announced he would be back in five minutes, he was going blow a fag. The chat went dead quiet for a couple minutes! He came back and had realized he needed to clarify by then. "Smoke a cigarette guys, smoke a cigarette!"

Ah but physique plays heavily as well as maybe machismo - taking the horse to the limits. Like driving maybe. Pool doesn't seem to require any physique that women can't attain. Couple more things at work, Even the super enthused woman has been restrained for millennia from achievement let alone excellence.

They’re not vague, several times I’ve expressed where forward movement could be made… stick your glasses on bud :)
Equal opportunity is not some being allowed into the circle, it’s creating a circle for everyone to thrive.
Really no surprise that Bishop is the only one that agrees with you here. His lunatic posts in 'NPR' section speak volumes. You guys would make a great scotch doubles team.

...and he had to hold back his response like he was neutral.

At NPR he would have been cussing a storm and started insulting people.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. But this isn't boxing, it's moving a stick backwards and forwards in a line. Until the male dominated marketing, branding and organization of events is detached, by funding equal opportunities at a grassroots level and providing a platform where societally fabricated gender is not attached to expected performance, then people will still argue the toss over why women don't move a stick in a straight line better than men.

As I said, this topic has been done to death here. Hope there is a fair resolution in the future, so that the vile, pointy hats stop sharpening their pitchforks... I mean, spilling Miller Lite on their keyboards
Your side of this argument always just assumes that all of the things you've mentioned above just happen randomly, and aren't themselves tied to underlying gender differences. And you also just assume that pool isn't an athletic endeavor. It's certainly way more athletic than say -- putting a golf ball, but yet there's not a woman alive who could compete with the best in the world on a putting green.

A lot of people think they are standing up for women when they defend their athletic capabilities but they're usually doing the exact opposite.

It doesn't assume these things happen randomly, it acknowledges the complete lack of neutrality, equality and equity that exist, and the incredible effort it would take to actually align these things and put them into place, as well as the lack of desire to actually do that by a vast amount of people.

Ah yes, your previous comment was nonsense, so you resort to insults :ROFLMAO: Classic Garczar.
Anyway, I'm done with this thread now. Hope the issue can be resolved in the future in a way that promotes fun, freedom and enjoyment of the game, as well as a space for the game to grow. Hope such threads can be a space for open and fair discussion in the future. Like I mentioned, without discussion, we go nowhere. Without civility, effective discussion does not exist.
