Matchrooms Concern

Right now Ultimate Pool is the most exciting thing happening in Pool and yes its all BarBox. Shane, Corey, Tyler, Archer, Tyler and all the top European small table players and many others are all playing in it. Its not the US Open, but it got the buzz.
Yes, as I wrote, taking the easy way...
Pros getting into amatuer events on small tables and take the money.
Then when facing real players on the 9ft... well...

I guess all is left for the Americans when it comes to pool is to get a good job and collect expensive cues...

Are you sure that a 10 years old kid, picks up football or other sports because he think that it'll make him rich one day?
Or maybe because he watched it on TV and it looked exciting?
Have you watched pool broadcasting production quality in the USA compared to Europe or Asia? or Snooker? Have you watched the tournaments productions?
Let Matchroom do its thing, maybe pool will be great again in America.
Obviously, if you want to get pool to a higher level in the USA and even get players play, the first thing to do is give control to someone outside the USA.

What about the free ride to college other sports offer and now NIL’s? You never addressed that key point as to why kids start to play. The free ride through college is worth more than most pool players make in their lifetime.

Again
When a kid at 10, 12 years old pick up a sport, he doesn’t think about any of that.

There is big money in Chinese 8ball.
You’re basically guaranteed to cash in just by signing up.
All it takes is a plane ticket and some money for food, they pay for the hotel and transportation and everything else.
So why don’t American players go after that money?
Simple answer is that the game is too hard for them and they don’t stand a chance.
The American players mentality is not where it should be for a professional athlete.

Maybe in your country kids don’t think about that. And who won the most medals in the Olympics again.

Right who won the most medals in the Olympics again.
Is pool played at the olympics?

American athletes have great mentality and supporting organizations for a lot of sports, just not for pool.
And why would you? Even here on a pool forum where we are all pool lovers, you don’t take pool seriously and as a sport.
It’s just a drinking game and a hustle

I do think pool is a very difficult sport to play. Unfortunately the lemon is not worth the squeeze here

Every real major sport for one.
You are referring to American sports.

How are we doing in soccer, cricket and F1 racing? Edit Boxing the international sports

NBA NFL nascar and MLB are American do ofc those are doing well.

Think…..beyond America - which pool clearly is a global stage.

What global stage is America excelling in?

Beyond sport what are we winning in? Education 😂

As an european I still see USA a top country. Look at the Mosconi Cup for example: every year you are second while we always finish second to last...

As did Filler.

no he didn't. very, very few of the european players started in snooker. even among the british players their roots are almost always english 8-ball.

what is true is that except for the UK, almost all players start on 9ft tables. even in countries were real estate is scarce, such as the netherlands, 9ft tables.

USA just won the ice hockey world championship.. but the most obvious answer is track and field

basketball is played in some countries here, but it's not a big sport
