It's only 90 degrees on paper. You hit it fuller with outside spin and throw it in. I thought that was obvious after all the discussion.
Since the 5 doesn't go in the upper corner.
Spin cut/miss the ball into the side, cue ball back up table where it started.
Offensive safety. Now both balls are near each other.
He swears on shots he has no chance of making, and misses the ones that most of us run out on 10/10 times.
I am not a theorist, just a player. You need to talk to DR Dave for that kind of stuff. However I will extend my challenge shot proposition to you if you enjoy some action. I move around a bit and may be in a town near you soon.
For arguments sake take the 5 off the table & put the 8 in the jaws of the bottom right corner.

If you don’t know how inside spin helps, how do you know it does?
Inside spin would tend to throw the object ball forward, past the pocket instead of into it. How does that not happen for you?
Why not show a video of you making the shot (a 90-degree cut) the way you describe?
