ALERTS ON MEMBERS

This is totally a guess. I see in my profile that there is a “Following” option.

I’m not following anyone, but I expect if I was, I’d get notified if they posted.

Not sure if that is an option available to anyone or if you have to upgrade to a higher level to get that option.

The only thing I know of is doing a member search by name and it should bring up that person’s posts, at least the most recent ones. Write a PM to one of the mods on duty or try Cleiton Rocha but any mod on duty can likely check with the House Pro. Your post is a little unclear so be prepared to be more specific or do you meany any post any time by that member starting right now or perhaps an as of date for looking at past posts. IMO, you should discuss this with a moderator.

Is there a way to get alerts for posts by a particular member? Details, please.
If I click on someone's name, I get a summary of them and a "Follow" button along with the "Ignore" button. Never used it, though.

So Bob showed up (I thought he was a "moderator", but, technically, he is just a "staff member", same for Rocha, Bad Lady, and R2D2) but for once, he was no help. Truthfully, I hoped someone had an easy answer I had missed, or at a minimum, shared my inquisitiveness.

I am very lazy -- looking for "full auto" like the "watch" function -- "one and done". Turn it on for a particular member, and every post said member makes would then cause a notification to me via the "alert" function. One would think that this would be the effect of "following", but, alas, it is not. (Hope this is clear enough for everyone.)

Anyone know exactly what "following" a member accomplishes?

I asked:

Does xenForo (AZB software) allow for notifications every time a particular member posts?

AI responded:

No, XenForo does not have a built-in feature to send notifications every time a specific member posts. However, you can achieve a similar result using a combination of forum features and add-ons.

Reading further, I don't really see an easy way to achieve what you want. Other have posted on how you can see the latest posts from a particular member by clicking on their user name. That seems to be the best alternative for now.

An AI Overview is not available for this search.
:ROFLMAO:

"following" a member.....

It is interpreting your query as stalking and will not answer.

There is psycho-political bias built into AI. You have to phrase your question correctly to minimize the bias, but it is impossible to completely avoid.

Appears follow gives you a current compilation of the followed. Don't ask me how or where. You gotta dig up or join the Xenforo forum.

I am thinking that it had a real function under the old (greenies, etc.) system, but I was only here a very short time before change occurred.

I had to try again:

AI: "On a XenForo forum, activating the 'follow' function for another user primarily allows you to: See their activity in your news feed: This makes it easier to stay updated on the contributions of specific users you are interested in"

Don't find a "news feed" but there is a "new posts" with only the following filters ("followed" are not included).
  • Unread threads
  • Watched content
  • Threads in which you've participated
  • Threads you've started
  • Unanswered threads
  • Save as defaultThese filters will be used by default whenever you return.
Steeeeeeeeeeriiiiiike threeeeee!

HELP. Please. I have got it where I cannot reset the forum list as my default. "Following. Latest Activity. Social. and Media" all have a "set as default" option, but not so for the "Forum List", the one I want as my default. Suggestions?

F Me. Figured it out. I should feel like a rock star but can only manage mutt. It (Forum List) can be set as default under "Preferences" under "Your Account".

XenForo according to Google AI has built in capabilities to enable push notifications.

1. Built-in XenForo features
  • Alerts: XenForo provides an alert system that notifies users of activities relevant to them, such as new replies to threads they are watching, reactions to their posts, and more.
  • Push Notifications: Users can enable push notifications to receive alerts directly on their devices, even when not actively on the forum, according to XenForo.
  • Notices: These are global messages broadcast to all users across forum pages. Notices can be customized with HTML, styling, and conditional display rules based on user criteria (e.g., guest users, users from specific sources).
  • Email Notifications: Alerts can be echoed to email, providing another notification channel for users.
I would imagine that has to be enabled by admins and they may not want to do that for privacy stalking concerns...
