Draw Shot

No gap..... but I think we'd all like to see what you just said. Sounds interesting/impossible/but.
I think that's in the Ray Martin book. IIRC he or whomever claimed it said 1/4 inch. Doesn't take much to get the ball coming at you but it's real easy to foul. Many times the foul has little effect on the draw except for the slight hop.

watch this vid (starts at 3'32") , this shot is called a 'fouette' (balls don't touch, they're around 1-2mm) :

another vid with the same family of shots , 'fouette-rétro' , artistic billard point n°35 :

here is a masse shot , it draws , but can you see a 'follow through' ?

at the carom small games, sometimes you're forced to draw without follow through since the distance between CB and OB is very short , here is an example at 4'21" :

another example at small games , look at 45'10" :

Sick!

I think Mike Massey was the first player I saw shoot this "Passing Lane" shot. Ralph credits it to George Middleditch who also used the shot in exhibitions.

That brought back a memory….George Middleditch in front of a big crowd at a March of Dimes exhibition 1978….9-ball over the hole far end…1-ball on same long rail….other end, one diamond from corner…. banked the 1-ball three rails back to the same diamond….where he had left whitey with massive spin….whitey ran three rails and made the 9-ball. Nicest surprise I’ve ever had at an exhibition.

Was this shot in The Color of Money, when Vincent is in the big tournament at the end during a match? (Forget if with Eddie or someone else before him).

If you didn’t stroke the cue ball in a sharp downward angle, you’d wind up scooping the
cue ball trying to draw it or else you’d be pushing the cue ball that’d be another foul. A
double kiss has to be avoided using a short nip short so you have to remove the cue fast.

Here’s another variation by Ralph
