World Pool Championships 2025, July 21-26, Jeddah

It looks like there is no replay available even for WNT TV subscribers? They have the matches posted from last year but not from earlier today.

Worse, what we've gotten on Table 1 is two matches that were forgone conclusions before they began in Gorst vs Henderson and Shaw vs Al-Ohtaibi.

There were some very good matches today, but American fans did not get to see them.

Unfortunately WNT.TV has not improved much at all. It’s worse in terms of consistency than DAZN, hard to believe. It’s 9 pm EST and there are still no taped matches available.

Unacceptable. I was painting my garage today and couldn’t watch live. Today paying viewers should be able to watch what they want to watch whenever they want to watch it. I can do that with almost anything else.

I could sort of do it before WNTTV with a combo of Dazn and Matchroom’s YouTube channel.

Taped matches should be available on demand asap and certainly no later than the end of the last match of the day. Very frustrating.

Skyler has no idea who Khashoggi is and has never given a hint of any political views. He and the mother of his children are getting married. That’s it. They bought a business vey recently and she’s running it. He said he couldn’t leave her to wedding plan and run the new biz while he was halfway around the world. Thats what he told Scott Frost.

It's incredible how often Matchroom botches these streaming events. They must do better in their more profitable sports like darts.

i noted that. maybe related be the new effort the comms in snooker are talking about in pronouncing non-english names. arguably they have been worse than even pool comms in that regard, because of the much less nationalities. but it's not gonna work (in either sport), it never does and they should just say it in english. even if by some miracle phil yates manages to verbalize a polish name in less than 10 seconds, karl boyes won't be able to, etc
 
You know you're a pool aficionado if you can name 50 percent-plus of these competitors at the WNT World Pool Championship.

First off, I love the smiling faces. Defending Champion Fedor Gorst looks mighty dapper, front and center. Look at Alex. Hahahaha! There's Soufi. Veteran champions Niels, Thorsten, and Ralf in the mix. Interesting that the Dynamic Duo from Spain, David and Francisco, are not standing together. Though Wiktor Zielenski is having problems with a Polish entity, stating he will not don the Polish flag, he is standing with his fellow Polish countrymen. I can't see or find fellow Americans Oscar, Tyler, Hunter, Lukas, or Max Eberle. The two Kaci brothers are side by side. Mickey Krause is quite stoic in his pose, with no smile. And then there's our Sam Henderson. What a tough draw he has for his first major event. He handled it like a pro, and Fedor was so kind to him at the conclusion of their match, showing him a shot he missed. It was good to see. I could see Sam's mom sweating the match from a distance. Best pool mom in the world!

My pick for the win is probably based on heart rather than smart money, but I like Shane, of course, and then Moritz, Kledio, and Filler. If Filler wins, it will be interesting to see if he's chosen for this year's Mosconi Cup.

Yates, who is better than he used to be, was just awful in that match. Besides his butchery of the defending champ's name time and again, he attempted to compare Fedor to golfing great Scottie Scheffler in a comparison that just plain didn't work.

For those that do not follow golf, Scheffler is a golfer who possesses a gear in golf that, when he is on, nobody can match. As phenomenal as Gorst is, pool's Scottie Scheffler is Josh Filler, not Fedor Gorst. Have we ever seen Fedor annihilate a field at a major the way Filler did at the European Open this year, which included a combined rack score of 63-22 in Stage 2 and a 13-1 win in the final? To my recollection, we have not.

Perhaps Phil will rebound today, but he had a poor start at the WPC, a problem amplified here in America by the absence of any other match on the stream to which one can switch.

Do they even like pool in Jeddah? Shaw's TV table match appeared to have a live audience of less than ten. Whether I am in attendance or not at a pool event, poor live fanfare drops the quality of any event in my eyes.

I think we owe the Saudis our gratitude for bringing money into our sport, but through one day, this championship seems less special, not more special, than the other majors.
 
why even choose dead money matches for T1? some saudi clause in the contract to display their crappy players? meanwhile sanjin is playing sniegocki and pijus is playing anh tuan
