We could fly em all in to DIA, bus em up to Saratoga WY and use their convention center/perfect/new/owned by the city.
Rooms for two are $100.
The Platte river runs Thru town great fishing I'd think town has less than 2,000 residents, the best table mechanic is in Ft. Collins Colorado, and one of the best cloth makers, Andy Cloth is a Huge supporter of pool is from there, they also invented Saratoga 8 ball.
Interesting group of pool player mindsets up NorT. In WY.

My guess is MR will always want the Florida Open to front run the U.S. Open. I doubt they would move the U.S. Open beyond early September. I expect them to stick to August.

The WPC takes up July, and the Scottish, UK and European opens seem to be settling in around March-April-May.

MR doesn’t really do anything the first few months of the year. Hard to see that changing.

They also have to leave space on the calendar for WPA/Predator and other events to prevent future conflict. The more MR settles on established dates, the more Predator/WPA can do the same. Good for all, ideally.

No matter where it goes in Texas, I'm for it. It's probably the only way I'd get to go to one.

I grew up outside of Corpus Christi. It's nearly as hot and way more humid than San Antonio and Austin, but it does usually have a breeze coming off of the Gulf. There are a couple convention centers that are close to the airport that would likely work pretty well.

I live in Austin and would say I think San Antonio would be a better choice. The Riverwalk area has multiple convention centers, hotels and creature comforts in the downtown area and is only like 10 miles from the airport. I like to think that it would get picked for that alone.

El Paso would be an interesting choice albeit a long drive for me.

I was thinking the same thing. It will never be as good as it was in Chesapeake. They can try vegas,atlantic city,or a texas casino but the tradition started in Chesapeake and there was always great action at Qmasters. Just pool.

Shekels pay Matchroom - and they pay the players. Pool has suffered for money a long time, and you still want them to suffer? No thanks.

The other U.S. Open this week has a $90 million prize fund. Now that’s shekels. Wish the billiards U.S. open got a fraction of that.

MR needs more places like Hanoi and Orlando where large fan support is there from day 1. It needs nice cities that are relatively inexpensive to run a big tourney and that are easy and cheap for players to get to. How come? Not enough shekels.

Purists and some older fans might not like it and I get it, but something had to change.
 
they pick the place that is available that gives them the best return that's good business.

places that pick things based on customers that want cheap. must have lots of customers, or they lose their short.
