Get ready for all the Fedor haters that say he's not an American. Cool story, nice post. (y)

He isn't, but you are too full of yourself to get that. Haters? The favorite blanket statement of fools that can't handle the truth or different opinions, and don't even know how to apply the word in the first place.

"“I get all the people who just roll their eyes and say, ‘Well, obviously he’s not American,’” Panozzo said of Gorst. “No one’s arguing, but it still makes sense. It’s good for pool, it’s good for Fedor, it’s good for the US.”" Well except some dumbasses on AZB.

Good luck. (y)

He's not American. He represents the USA in Matchroom events.

I think you'd struggle to find many Fedor haters. I'm yet to encounter anyone who doesn't think he's awesome. Putting "haters" in the same sentence as something else doesn't manifest haters.

Nice article, thanks for sharing, I hadn't seen that.

Surprised both by it's length and it's excellent photography. Really showcases the game in a nice light and makes it look very modern and professional, something I haven't often seen in press coverage.
And they even managed to almost make it through the entire write-up without using the word "hustling". :)

Photos were shot by Pete Marovich, who was a longtime PGA Tour photog who has been dabbling in pool more recently and plays a bit himself.

That's cool, good info! All too often I've seen pool articles and it's shots of a player in some run down looking pool hall that doesn't make the game look very appealing. Having good photos from good angles at a well setup Matchroom event makes it look so much better.

Just so nice to see good coverage of the game that is really well done.

Jeremy came to the US Open after reaching out to us. He is an amateur player and fan of the sport himself. It was great to have him at the event and this write up is brilliant.
When you say "reaching out to us," who are you?

Great quote

Well your post is moronic. Wasn’t any reason to attack him like an angry internet troll. Add you to the block list

Fedor's American in that he has found great acceptance among the American pool fans, who easily relate to him.

After all, the Ukrainian war and its aftermath separated him from both his family and his coach. The WPA piled on, inexplicably deciding that Russian players could no longer play in WPA sanctioned events (reversed less than a year later).

Facing stressful life circumstances and some inexplicable persecution on the basis of his nationality, Fedor gathered himself and made a great life for himself here in America. His is a great American success story.

OK, so he is not a citizen yet, and maybe there is something comical about his inclusion on Team USA, but he is very much one of us, having embraced American life and all that comes with it. Fedor is very easy to root for.

... and, of course, his inclusion on Team USA has made the Mosconi a better event.

Go get 'em, Fedor.

JAA is on the support staff with WNT.TV. He has fielded our complaints and, ah, constructive criticism of the Matchroom channel.

The CNN article was quite good.

As for Fedor, he won't be officially American unless/until he gains citizenship. But the guy speaks English better than many Americans and hustles like a red-blooded U.S. capitalist. I'll consider him an honorary American for now.

Excellent article.
