WNT Legends

Earl just posted on fb he ran a 114. Kinda ironic how UP USA has their own legends tourney and Matchroom has a similar event a few weeks later. Would rather see all these players or any other retired, semi-retired pros playing UP USA!! The predator mixed pairs is PAINFUL to watch compared to UP!!!

UP is the worst
I rather watch Chinese 8 ball

This overlaps the Derby City Classic, which runs from 1/23-2/1, so I'll likely miss it.

The argument for watching this is, for those who've never watched Efren, it might be your last chance.

Efren Reyes is 71. I recall watching the 72-year-old Irving Crane play in Philadelphia 1986, and it was extremely painful to watch one of pool's greatest champions playing so many levels below his "prime" performance. Still, this might be a good event, and the very presence of these four BCA Hall of Famers makes it noteworthy.

Wishing the best of luck to all involved.

I like this! I want see how they still perform and they are all my heroes.
I really hope they play better what people think they will. Then this event will be huge success!

I've seen some videos of Efren plays recently and we've seen the rest of the guys play. They still play above some of the regulars we see in all the majors, They are just older and tired and don't travel anymore. And maybe not in shape to go the whole nine yards in a major tournament but definitely can hold their own in a small event. Efren and Busti get enough action back home without the need to travel to keep them in good form for their age.
This is going to be fun, even with Earl... o_O

There was an exhibition match between Earl and Shaw not long ago, Earl was kicking ass and beat Shaw, and although that was on 5 inch pockets, he can still put in a good fight.

Ralf is still touring but not doing that well, but he knows the Philippines better than Earl as he travelled there quite a lot.

My money is on Busti, he still plays great, he beat Gorst at the open.

ralf is still a tough draw for anyone and regularly goes to single elim..

Earl in the house will make this a spectator's delight because, like Alex Higgins, you never know which Earl is going to show up. Efren and Bustie, of course, will be a massive draw in Philippines. And how about that shot Bustamante pulled off against Shaw at the Philippines Open recently? Vintage Bustie. Ralf, as always, will show up in pure stroke because he's still a tournament soldier through and through and will be shooting with those European pool fundamentals.

That said, I'm not crazy about the WNT advertisement on Facebook, particularly this line: "Celebrating the era that inspired the Colour of Money." First, if they’re referencing the American movie, they could at least use the American spelling of "Color" and include the full title. Second, none of these four champions are the type of players who inspired that film. "The Color of Money" was rooted in American road stories, hustling culture, and laying down the lemon, not exactly the vibe of this group.

Caveats aside, I still think this will be a fun event, especially with Bustamante and Earl in the mix. Those two can still bring a little levity, and honestly, Efren doesn't need to do anything more than show up to make the whole thing worth watching.
