Over age 50 Mosconi Cup?

Just a thought…would an exhibition like the Mosconi Cup work if it were limited to players over 50? Would it need to be USA vs the World as to include Efren or Francisco? Maybe winner take all scenario to motivate the players? Honestly, I am home sick on my couch and just watching BilliardTV. This just popped into my mind.

Who would be favored?

What's the appeal of watching players that are well past their playing primes?

Especially because Team USA stubbornly refuses to go young at the Mosconi, I'd be far more interested in an under-25 event where the players would all still be displaying world class pool. Still, Europe might look something like this: Moritz Neuhausen, Szymon Kural, Kledio Kaci, Jonas Souto, and either Felix Vogel or Yannick Pongers. I'm not sure America has the young players to compete with such a team. Still, I would like to see it.

Although it’s called Mosconi Cup, I prefer Europe vs. Asia (under 25). They can name it something else.

No point in a seniors Mosconi Cup but would love to see more seniors playing UP USA, enough to have a seniors tour at every event not just a yearly thing and they can play in the mixed/open events as well. JJ, Frosty, Earl, Hohmann or Schmidt the list is endless and anyone with a solid 1P or 14.1 background will be exciting to watch!

Yikes. They would stand a chance against ANY Team USA...

Holiday boredom looks to have set in. Hard. I have zero desire to watch a senior team exhibition. Hell, i can barely get up enough enthusiasm to watch a single Mosconi match.

I'd enjoy another " legends of pool " show playing 8 ball and 9 ball along with 14.1 races to 100 or even 150 in a round robin type format .
I realize finding a central location for such an event would be difficult at best and sadly it would be back east somewhere or Las Vegas possibly Reno for a change ?
Or even another World Series of pool like what Miller Lite promoted years ago !

I didn't like the old legends either. For me i want to remember them in their prime. Watching them age and their skills diminish to me is not entertaining. I'm not big on nostalgia trips. I watch a little senior golf for the simple reason those guys still shoot in the 60's and are very competitive. Senior pool would maybe work if the players were all under 65, maybe. Even then they still are shadows of their former selves.
