almost all i want nowadays i can buy locally or amazon prime. free shipping and usually cheaper and arrives in a day or two.
i never really cared for specialty items. and never saw a reason to pay triple to have someones advertising on something i wear.
seems they should pay me to wear it not the other way around.
and it costs like 20 bucks to get a meal delivered someplace and that is locally. and not a package sent across the country by airplane and truck and handled by many people.

I sell a lot of hats and USPS ground will be $5 - 6 cross country for a baseball cap in a 6x6x6 box. Most are 7 - 8oz w the weight of the box included. The cheapest anything can be shipped via ground is like $4.40 if it's 3oz or less. From MI to IN for it to be $38 in shipping via ground it'd have to be like 30+ lbs of crap.
Someone has to cover the cost of the all the free shipping on the >$99 stuff I buy
You need to hit the minimums or you're screwed.

Send them an email asking if their site is working, or if they are just dumb.
On 12/13/25 I ordered a Christmas present for my daughter in law who lives in Peoria, Illinois. It was supposed to be there before Christmas. On 12/17/25 it was in East Peoria, across the river from Peoria, with delivery scheduled for the next day. The next day it was sent to Winnipeg, Canada. After coming back through customs it made it’s way through many states and was delivered to her yesterday .. it was labeled a “sortation error”

Yeah, where are you shipping to op? Are you sure your info is correct. I just tossed a hat into my cart and shipping was $6.69 for UPS Ground Advantage. Maybe there was a site glitch or something? Try again.
Doesn't have to be. If I ship one of my racks out west it's $30+. If I use Pirateship it's $8. Retailers charging high shipping like this are taking that extra $ and lying about the actual price. It's like the guys who used to sell items on ebay for $2 and charged $30 shipping on all orders.
I used to order from them quite a bit, bought 3 great Schon's from them, always had big orders, so shipping was cheap or free. Always liked them.
After reading this I put a hat in my cart and checked shipping. $23. While cheaper than your quote, still really high. As it was about $13 cheaper, I wonder if what is going on is when you order, Seyberts isn't the one that is shipping. That would explain the difference in what I saw and what you were quoted as the hats are actually being shipped from the producer.
Just for kicks, put a different brand hat in your cart and see if you get a different ship rate.
Edit I just read Slides post and he got a different rate yet.

Hey hey, now! I’ve been looking to replace my “More Cowbell” hat for a couple few years now to no avail.
You wouldn’t happen to have the means to bang that out- More (on top) cowbell pic with a drumstick (in the middle) and Cowbell! (on bottom)? Not bubble letters, but a similarly jaunty font.
Mayhaps the hat would even be corduroy?
I don't think I've ever paid for shipping from them...
