White vault plate vs Black vault plate, does it matter?

A friend of mine had his Revo with a BVP modified to have WVP, he says he cant see the tip of the cue when playing. I have both WVP and BVP and to me the color does not affect my game...

I have a difficult time identifying the end of the shaft with a black value plate, even the thin white ones can be tough. This is why I like the cynergy, there's enough contrast for me to see it clearly.
