Careful Criticizing CSI Org

Regrettably, this is what things have come to.

You don't like what someone is saying about you, and you have the stick... you cudgel them to death to silence them and anyone else vaguely thinking of speaking their mind. It is the sign of a thin skin and that you're probably doing something wrong but don't have enough of the moral high ground to take a stand and debate your case in a logical fashion.

It is the stance of an unprincipled bully.

It's the customer base. They selflessly bring prosperity. They are worth sheltering from the harshness of humans.
Every penny...

lol...

why does any one think its okay to go on the internet and grip about someone's business if you are tied to it. do that to any boss and you are fired. do that to any event operator and expect not to be invited back.

i know everyone puts whatever pops into their mind on the internet that last forever for the world to see. so expect what comes back at you.
his post wasnt constructive but a big putdown on all of the event.

just as he has the right to put out his opinion , the business has the right to ban him forever. and justly.

Lot's of that shit going around, it ain't nothing new.

Seems pretty minor, but it's seldom a good idea to criticize the organization you work for in a public forum...
I would agree. Take your grievance private first. Generally speaking, it's all about presentation. If you approach folks in a reasonable manner with legitimate concerns, and frame it in a way that shows you genuinely care about improving the organization, product, etc, you are more likely to achieve a positive outcome.

Jumping the shark, and putting the folks you work for on public blast, will likely land you on the public side of the public/private door...and probably throws up a red flag as it relates to any potential employment with future employers, organizations, etc.

do that to any boss and you are fired.

this is an extreme position to take- fired for speaking out?

sounds like a terrible boss

and the post was very productive, that image of the giant white plastic buckets on the stupid predator table will make me laugh forever

5” pockets……OMG……maybe if it was on a 10’ pool table but that sure isn’t the case….that seems absurd.
Next thing you may see is each player receives 1 mulligan every rack and you have to break opposite handed.

Yes, the comments weren’t from a random player but from a league operator—essentially a local ambassador and representative for the organization and a recruiter for new players. It's common for people in those roles to be held to a higher standard of avoiding public statements that undermine confidence in the competitions, governance, sponsors, etc.

My guess is that if the post had simply been a discussion about pocket size, this thread wouldn’t exist. But in a short message he:
– criticized the officiating
– criticized the policing of bad behavior
– criticized the welcoming of new players
– criticized the welcoming of lower-skilled players
– ridiculed the equipment
– called out a major sponsor
– wrapped it up with the phrase “BCA is fast becoming…”

Put together, that reads less like a narrow criticism and more like an insider saying the organization itself is going downhill. When comments like that come from someone tied to the league in an official capacity, it’s just not surprising the organization would respond.

Sounds like he was ready to quit, and he got exactly what he asked for.

League operators are much more like customers than employees. Any business has the right to alienate and ban customers at their own risk 🤷‍♂️ Every bar has a list of 86'ed former patrons.

That strategy will work out if it's truly just a small group of malcontents and not a reflection of executives ignoring larger problems.

I still don't get why people criticize 5" pockets. Hardly anyone on a league level is good enough to run out on them on a consistent basis. Plus, Predator pockets are not cut like Valley (obtuse angle) with a non-existent slate shelf. They are cut more like a Gold Crown 5" factory pocket.

If everyone and there mother was running out the set from the lag, yes, too easy. But that's not the case anywhere on the planet.

God forbid the 400 level players who attend these things are allowed to make a couple balls in a row.

is this the ozzy reynolds who is responsible for the 2 set race to 4 games with winner break, and a spot shot shoot out to determine a tie?

Some of the youtubers that were there were complaining about the pockets as well. Too large , didn't like the no angle cut and the non existent shelf. They claim they were completely different than last years.

I'll bet it sped up the tournament quite a bit having big pockets.
The op Facebook post sounds like a butt hurt loser who's team lost or the team in his league he wanted to win, lost.
The picture is funny though.
