Yeah, I think the idea pertains to many, for risking everything you have just to make a score is something many of the greats tried at some point.

Efren was 45 in 1999, already on the downswing of his prime except, of course, at one pocket, where he was still the one to beat.

The first match of decent video quality I saw of him was from 1988. I suppose my view of his skill in rotation games was colored by watching videos of him when he was on the downswing.

Many have suggested that Efren's best game was fifteen ball rotation, and many say he was the best ever player at the game. If you can get your hands on some footage, you might enjoy it. Much of Efren's best play was before videotaping of matches was common, and that's our bad luck. On the other hand, his prime as a one pocket player came later, and there's plenty of good footage of Efren in his peak one pocket form.
