Super happy for him. Hopefully he doesn't get snubbed this year at the MC. Surprisingly, no one from Team USA was at this tournament. Lukas defeated Naoyuki Oi 13-10 to win in the finals.

That is so awesome. I am really happy for him. He defeated a really great player in the finals. He must have played great. I really love his game. Such a solid player.

By far the best performance by Lucas Fracasso-Verner. He beat Emil Gangflot, Szymon Kural and Naoyuki Oi in his final three matches.
His win over Oi is imo his best ever.

I watched LFV a lot last year and, frankly, didn't think he was ready for prime time. No real big wins in his career. This event had a dozen top players, however, and to win the whole event is very impressive. I plan to watch his wins over Kural and Oi later to see how he did it.

Hard to find prize distribution, but it looks like Lukas won $5,000, which is 5,000 Mosconi points. He still trails Fedor, SVB, Tyler, Woodward, Thorpe and Dominguez in WNT rankings, but he is very close. Some of the others will see some points drop out later in the year.

Looking forward to this man's game improving.
Wondering how well he'll do with 4'' pockets.
Likely pretty good, considering Raxx has 4.25 pockets that are worn in + the e coast humidity.
Nice win for the up and comer.

I like a lot about him including he's a gambler and he has an old school McDermott he plays with sometimes.

I hope he gets a good sponsor, after that win. Maybe Predator, or Cuetec, or even a company like Mcdermott or Meucci would be cool, to see him play for. Those old D Series Mcdermott cues hit amazing. I would really like to try out their 3rd Gen Defy.

Congrats to Lukas.
He is a good player but still far behind the top. and definitely not at a level that will save the USA at the Mosconi.
I don't think that Gorst was already American in 2024....so the truth might be even sadder

While I agree that he's far from elite, can you name any other American besides Shane or Fedor that are winning a WNT ranking event?

At least he's trying, I didn't see any other Team USA players make the trip to NYC.

And Gorst is still not a citizen in 2026...

We need as much help as we can get, and then some.

He's already sponsored by Mcdermott. For them it's called being a brand ambassador

okay, lol, that makes me feel like such an idiot. That is something that I really should have known. I see that he has played for Mcdermott for awhile now. That is really cool. I do not really follow Pro pool. I have seen him play a few times though, and really love his game.

it doesn't matter who you put in the Mosconi US team, the total level will still be lower than what Europe can put up.
not this year, not ever again, until the attitude towards pool will change in the USA as it did in other countries. This might never happen because it seems that most pool fans, players and what not, are happy with pool as it is so no need to change it for the pro level, it wouldn't be the first sport that the USA are not world leaders at, it's OK... but it is probably the first sport that used to be bigger in the USA and lost it's glory.

He's played a lot when he was younger at the place where they have the Shark Stream matches. They've got some type of relationship with McDermott, at least they run a lot of there ads. Maybe that's where it started, idk.

The Mosconi Cup is just an exhibition though, and it is only races to 5, playing 9 ball. Theoretically, any decent pro should have a chance against any top Pro, in a race to 5 games (playing 9 ball), right? Maybe it is more about the Mental aspect of a short race to 5, and that noisy crowd, and being able to handle all of that pressure. Maybe putting the top 5 Americans with the strongest mental games, would have the best chance at beating the Euro players, in that event.
