If you hit thee.... (exact contact point on the object ball that draws a straight line into the pocket center) can you miss?

Making others realize the contact spot is not always the area to make the ball.
From straightlines post.... Thread#5
The visuals are helpful for players learning where to hit.

Thread title....

''Seeing the contact point on the object ball.''

that is absolutely right the real contact point is where you need to hit depending on the circumstances.

the spot in line with the pocket is the exact spot to hit if you are hitting it pure. so that is the place you start from.

there is no scientific way to find your spot you just have to wing it after looking at the natural spot.

that is why it is best to use no englsih if you can .

i would say that wherever you have to hit to make the ball
THATS THE CONTACT POINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easy enough to distinguish the "straight-in" contact point from the "actual" contact point in conversation - they're often both used for aiming.

The short answer is NO, you won't miss.
The longer answer is - if you missed, then you didn't hit the correct contact point, you think that you have, but you didn't.
You might miss due to other factors like un-even table or dirty cloth when shooting soft.

You know I can't resist these.

Wackbards. That's like asking if a carpenter goes by the correct blueprint, can he screw up? The balls go where they are hit. This presumes all the other phenomena. Book not forthcoming.

CPG precisely nails the intended shot. It doesn't do the screwing up.

The longerer answer is "My wife's pregnant and can I owe you?"

On any cut shot, as you increase the speed of the cue ball striking the obj ball, you must hit the obj. ball fuller/thicker. If the balls are clean or dirty, the thickness of contact is different.

Yes on pristine conditions the transition from roll to bang is very touchy. There is a big caveat on this:

Your stroke. The line error is amplified in three dimension so that...
