Given that he wasn’t born until 1972 I don’t think he was much of force in the 1980s.

Yes, Grady was among the best of the 1980's for sure.I thought Grady Mathews was considered one of the all time great 1P players back in those days?
I know. He left a big window. Lou asked at the end who would you put money on....in that span of twenty years give me a 90's Shannon. I love watching him play and could even get lucky and win money against pretty much anyone.Given that he wasn’t born until 1972 I don’t think he was much of force in the 1980s.
In the very early 80’s he was feared by many.I thought Grady Mathews was considered one of the all time great 1P players back in those days?
I would say the 90's.When would Jack Cooney have been in his prime?
The proposition bet was one handed spot shot and no rail touched. The pockets of the table were filled with all the various side action bets that had every available dollar on the One attempt for it all.
Of course he did it. ShrugBusted the,

Thanks for the insights. I saw Bugs play bank pool, but never one pocket.I likedeverybody you named...., But for the Money they weren't going to beat Bugs!
I'm pretty sure it means the cue ball stopped short of hitting the end rail (on a spot shot). It's not that hard, but he was likely shooting one-handed "jacked up", which means not resting the cue stick on the rail. What does “no rail touched” mean?
The cueball doesn't get to a rail after cutting in the object ball on the spot, shooting from the kitchen (behind the head string). A difficult proposition made more difficult by shooting one handed. (A slight curve ball helps get the object ball to the pocket with whitey stopping before hitting a rail. Try itWhat does “no rail touched” mean?
Gotta agree bcuz he did me solid one night and I owe him.For me, Strawberry Brooks is right up there, but perhaps it’s because I spent a lot of time around him. At the very least he was better than anybody with a cigarette hanging from his mouth while playing![]()
