WNT Florida Open: New Cloth Color?

I’ll never understand why Blue became the color. I’ve heard all the theories that are quantifiably untrue. Green is far and away the most aesthetically pleasing and takes more abuse from patrons too. Blue looks “good” for like 3 days maybe.

BRING BACK GREEN
Aesthetically is purely your opinion .. I think blue looks much better but I’m fine with blue or green as long as it’s not red. Lol

Respectfully disagree. Tournament blue was chosen after a scientific study of colors and contrast. Not an accident that the US Open Tennis tournament surface is practically the same color.
Tennis doesn't use blue colored balls. For me, both the 2 and sometimes the 10 can lose their edges a bit on the tournament blue cloth. Really, any of the darker colors can be problematic at times, especially under substandard bar lighting. Lighter cloth colors provide much better contrast across all used pool ball colors, and most lighting situations.

I'll arrive at the Florida Open on Tuesday afternoon and I'm staying until the event is over. I hope any AZBers in attendance that I've yet to meet will introduce themselves.
I will arrive Tuesday targeting 11am and will probably stay until late afternoon. I hope to see you there again this year.

If true, it would tell me that pool is just something for her to fook with.

Would love to see how that would go over at the Crucible -- I'm guessing they'd hang her from the rafters, lol. But when it comes to pool she can do as she pleases and pose for selfies.

Exactly. Truthfully this is Barry f*ck up, putting a non pool person and female in charge in the first place. The snooker crowd wouldn’t suffer this fool.

Who cares what color the cloth is?
She’s playing up the Florida location, and we’re talking about it.
That’s the goal.
Though, it took me a while to grow accustomed to the gray🙄
Ultimately, it’s the player not the color of the cloth.

The better question: Is anyone at Matchroom Pool reaching out to the hometown news of each player?

How about the Boys & Girls clubs of America, which usually have a pool table in them?
How about inviting local Day Camps for day matches in the Summer and public/private schools in the Winter?
Someone needs to do THAT.

Matchroom gave me permission to promote MOSCONI on this side of the pond in 2015 with a 20% discount for the military & I bust my ass for MOSCONI Vegas, contacting every military base in Nevada & the 5 states that border it.
The USA doesn’t know there’s a Team USA they can get behind.

I also invited President Barak Obama who plays pool.
The White House responded with a “no” but at least I tried.

I did this gratis.

Coincidentally, it was the first year they sold out all 2,500 seats.

If it's Simmonis, it's dusty pink. It's actually kind of nice to play on.
That being said...can we just agree to go back to green.
What's with changing the ball and cloth colors all the time?
Stupid
For television, grey was easier on the eyes and the ball colors popped, and didn’t get lost in the blue.

Tell Emmy to stop feminizing pool.
Took all the aggression out of pool.
Bunch of choir boys who sign good conduct policies.

I think people who care about the game care.

The color in the photo suggests a home table situation where the wife said, "Sure, you can have a pool table... but the cloth has got to match the drapes."

We're talkin' about it but for all the wrong reasons.

Shirley you can't be serious

Tell Emmy to stop feminizing pool.
You are mistaken. That is not what is happening.
Took all the aggression out of pool.
?You want aggression, why?, that’s what boxing or MMA is for.
Watch action matches rather than pool .
Pool is a skill sport.
Bunch of choir boys who sign good conduct policies.
😂😂😂
You just love Golf then

You know I care about the game.

Nope, it represents the location of the event in Florida

Sorry, no such thing as bad publicity.

Not to get into an extended volley on this, but we all see this differently and I would suggest -- at least from the comments and likes so far -- your view is in the minority.

So great, you believe it has to do with Florida, though if we're going to go with that it looks more like Georgia, the Peach State. Are we expected to applaud pineapple colored cloth for a Hawaii event?!

And contrary to your opinion: yes, there is such a thing as "bad publicity." My professional experience has proven that to me.

Lou Figueroa
pina colada anyone?
