When you say that your high performance model is low deflection, obviously there is measurement units for that, but were does it stands against the known brands? have you tested it?

really shouldn't be a big problem to standardize this whole low deflection thing in testing and measurements. I guess it's not the manufacturers best interest to actually get a measurable spec. Predator used to do it when there was no competition...

We had someone independently send out unmarked shafts out to have good players test them with no knowledge about them and received feedback and comparisons. This way it is as unbiased as possible. No shaft name, no manufacturer name, no one standing over their shoulder. Just blind feedback. Those shafts were given back to us and adjustments were made along the way to the shafts construction. More were sent out and brought back to make more changes. Once we settled on our construction techniques. Other shafts were sent back out to get feedback on the final shafts.

It's hard to teach tricks to Old Dawgs who already know them. They wrote the book.
I know for a fact I have several wood shafts that will out perform CF any day of the week. But that's prolly just wishful thinking from this old dawg??

Our webpage and Facebook page are not ready. But shafts are available. The O.P. Has one of our elevate models. It is a mid deflection shaft designed for someone who is moving from wood to a carbon shaft. Our high performance model is low deflection but with a more solid feel than the typical carbon fiber shafts. The Elevate model is $499 and the Zenith model is $549. Shafts are available in 11.8mm, 12.4mm and 12.8mm. The 11.8mm and 12.4mm are available in 29” and 30”. The 12.8mm is only available for the moment in 29”. Whitten tips are standard. The joints that are currently available are Radial, 3/8-10, 3/8-11, 3/8-11.5 (Bludworth), 3/8-14, 5/16-14, 5/16-18, and uniloc. More to come soon.

It's not old people thing. Feel is real. When you get proper feedback, you can feel it. I'm not saying they're for everybody, nothing is for everybody, but the option is out there. BTW, I don't JUST make hybrid shafts. I make CF shafts, wood shafts, LD wood shafts (with feel).

When LD started becoming a thing. I knew they were beneficial but I couldn't stand the feel of them, they're dead, hollow feeling(which is exactly what they are). That's why I didn't whine about it OR say, I'm sticking with good old old growth maple (which I have btw) No, I developed a ld shaft that has proper feel.

I'll eventually get everything in order and I'll officially launch Ontarget Billiards, or I won't. Whatever is, is. lol.

I mostly design and develop for me, but there's no reason that others shouldn't benefit from my ingenuity.

Funny story, I was traveling for work and took some time off and visited family in Alabama. I went to a local tournament in Hunstville and I see a local cue repair guy making one of my tip designs. I go over and say, hey, what ya doing? and he said yeah a guy on one of the forums was talking about making these so I thought I'd try myself. I lol'd and said yeah that's me. I have a patent on them. His eyes got pretty big until I told him it's all good dude, you can make them. I don't care.

Actually neither, so when I first started designing tips, I was trying something different. I ended up not being able to do, (at least for the time being), what I originally wanted to do. However, I was sitting down having a conversation with Royce of OB cues, about low deflection. I had mentioned that I had an idea for a tip and and I wondered if it might actually lower deflection. (turns out it did, but that's a story for another time), I developed the idea for two tips one that had a soft core that allowed the tip to give inward but not on the periphery and the opposite, i.e. one that was normal leather on the periphery, but extra hard in the center.

The thought behind that was that there was zero chance of miscuing when shooting a center tip shot, so why not get maximum energy transfer, so I created a phenolic plug and backing to glue to a drilled out(in the center) leather tip.

That was the one he was attempting to make.

I just picked up the first carbon fiber shaft available from Ascension Carbon. These shafts are custom made in STL, MO. This company has been researching, and developing this shaft for an extended period of time, and finally came to a shaft that they are proud to share with the pool community. I’ve got number one. It was made to fit my Schon, and hits fantastic. It’s 12.4mm, with a Whitten Medium tip, phenomenal taper, and incredible hit. It is extremely low deflection. I recall us talking about that tip. It was a work in progress at the time.

Do you have any plans for making Hybrid shafts??
By Hybrid I mean 18" of CF shaft anchored or inserted into 11" of maple.

I have 3 that play very good.
