metal straps I must confess I did find them at classic billiards but at $10.98 each I thought I might come up with a cheaper solution.

I purchased fiberglass trim skirts for my gold crown 1 table but I need to fabricate the metal straps that connect the skirt to the table. Have you folks done this and if so what have you used. Thank you, Allen

fix slate I think you could get a good result with JB weld. Get the original JB not the fast setting. The JB weld will give you time to set the slate in place. Do not use a fast setting epoxy.

crayon I like the iron idea but please take the time to practice on some scrap material. If you can find wool worsted old pair of pants at goodwill then you have something that gets a little close to your cloth. I am afraid that the oil residue will be the problem when it is all done.

ob shaft on what type of butt Then a wood to wood joint vs. a metal joint makes little difference as log as it is a spliced butt?

OK so it is time to try a ob classic shaft but what butt to I want to marry it to my joss 5/16X14 or I have a couple of Mcdermott cues. I guess what I am asking is will the joints used by these two manufacturers matter as far as the hit goes?

ld shaft I agree with the change the tip first. Invest 15 bucks on a good tip you might like what you have. You can find many posts on tip advice I'll leave that up to you to research.

Melamine I tried to find more info on Magic Erasers and on the web you will find everything from 1500 to 3600 sand paper equivalent. So, looks like it does remove some shaft material, no wonder it worked so well. I'll go back to the paper bag.

magic eraser to clean shaft I purchased a magic eraser yesterday after reading this post and it did a great job but I see what looks like white powdery stuff and am wondering if this powder is my shaft being sanded by the magic eraser. Any thoughts? Allen Sequim, WA
