How Good is your CHALK ?

I personally don't like taking the time to chalk between shots. I used to use Kamui chalk and when the last little bit of my original piece walked away one night I started using Masters again. I found that I still don't have to chalk every shot unless I'm juicing up the cue ball quite a bit...

Qiut smoking day for AZers and support.Monday.

I quit (again) after smoking for 7 years 2 weeks ago now. I'm using a vaoprizer and it's been really easy. I started with a relatively low dose of nicotine in the liquid and am already starting to dilute the nicotine liquid with the nicotine free kind. The vaporizer is nice because it gives...

E-Cigarette Ban in Los Angeles effective today...

I think it's a bit of an over reaction but at the same time I understand. I quit smoking and use a vaporizer now. The problem is that no one is sure if there are any potential 2nd hand effects from it. Add that to the overly litigious state CA has become and the county/city is just trying...

Qiut smoking day for AZers and support.Monday.

I've smoked for about 6 years now after quitting for about 15 years. Just ordered a voprizer for myself and as soon as it arrives, the cigarettes will be gone. I'm going to start with the oil that has nicotine in it and slowly mix less of it in with the non nicotine oil. As I just turned 40...

6th annual Chuck Markulis Memorial Tounament

I'm pretty sure it will be. They do some streaming on the monthly tournaments and they had a streaming table set up last year.

Best U.S. Pool Rooms (For Equipment)

QFT. They also just put new felt on about a month or so ago and tightened the pockets on all the tables. So if you want well maintained, tight tables, Hard Times in Sacramento would be a good choice.

    Schon ID Help

The colors in the picture are accurate. I was looking at the palmer collector site that day and didn't notice the R3 because the inlays threw me off. I'll have to ask if it came that way with the inlays or if it was done by someone else after the fact.

    Schon ID Help

Was at a tournament the other day and a guy had this interesting Schon that I haven't seen before. It appeared to have original micarta ferrules on it. The cue was in good shape but the clear coat on the handle needed some attention as you can see in the one picture. Thanks in advance for any help

    Tournament registration etiquette. Your thoughts?

It really comes down to the TD if you ask me and if the tournament has a cap on the field. I go to a tournament where the TD has no control. People call ahead and then no show. The problem is, if you call in and it's already full you move along and then a few people don't show up and you...

I've tried the .98 and the 1.21 and when my 1.21 one is done I'll be getting another cube of the .98 It seems to stay on better and I don't like to chalk after every shot.

    Hard Times North v South

I think it's a great idea. I know a lot of people travel up from the South for the Chuck tournament every year. You could set up qualifying mini tournaments with a point system earned based on placement in the tournaments to find your qualifiers for the main event.

    some random questions

There are quite a few low deflection shafts out there now, almost every manufacturer seems to make one. OB, Predator, Tiger, McDermott just to name a few. If you are just starting out, save the money instead of buying a low deflection shaft and get a couple hours of instruction. You'll see...

looking for advice on runnibg small, local tournaments.

You could also try to add a break pot if the calcutta doesn't draw interest. See if the house will donate $1 per player towards it or you can do it raffle ticket style. There's a local 9 ball tournament here that has a break pot of around $2600 (raffle tickets), and it pays $250 a ball for...

    Pool Maxims...

One I've said for years is that there are no hard shots and no easy shots. All shots only have one point of contact to make it go in the desired pocket and the only thing that changes is the angle at which you have to contact that point.
