Kamui chalk, Im considering it, OPINIONS/Experience, ALTERNATIVES, Thanks!

I like it. I've been using it for 3 years. Still on the first two cubes. I still have 80 present of the cube left. Doesn't make you play any better.

It can make a mess. And unless you break your chalking routine, it's just expensive. I have miscues with it. I don't know of it really increases spin. But when you use it, it really is different in texture to any other chalk. It's like clay or wet powder vs normal cubed chalk.

I've been using it over a year. A cube will last 6 to 9 months so who cares about $28 per cube. IMHO, the next best chalk is Predator.

What's to consider, it's $27. Buy a cube and find out for yourself.

I may get around to it....
...as soon as Tweeten products don't work for me....

...this might take a while

If you want a smoother chalk than Masters, try Magic Chalk. Can be a bit tough to find though. Cheaper than Kamui although I never tried that stuff. I can tell you that the few people I know personally did not like the Kamui chalk at all.

The only time I feel the need to use my own chalk is in the summer. When chalk has been sitting on the table all day in the humidity. When it has the mushy feel when applied to the cue.

I say if you are interested in it give it a try. I have refrained from it because I don't feel it is worth it to me personally. With my habit of supplying pool halls with free chalk from home (leaving it on the table) I have decided that I can't justify buying a new piece every time I leave one behind.

Alternative: Masters....still the most sensible choice for me.

I like the Kamui, although the chalk tends to cling to the cue ball and I find myself cleaning the cue ball more often. I also like Blue Diamond and the Predator chalk as close alternatives. If you are used to Master, just try BD or Pred and see if you like them more. If you notice a difference and like them, then bite the bullet on Kamui. If you don't notice a difference, don't spend the extra money.

Honestly though, it's about 28 bucks and it lasts around a year depending on how much you play... it's not going to break the bank.

I truly believe in it I know the price is high for just one cube.
if you use a phenolic tip the kamui chalk is to date the best chalk that will go on and stay on
and for your playing cue I chalk every shoot I take but in mid run you some times for get to but with the kamui chalk you can play up to 10 shoots before you really need to chalk up again.
I have tried every chalk on the market

My thoughts exactly.

It's good stuff but I'll disagree with the above suggestion only because it's a kind of pricy.
If you're a league player get everybody on your team to throw in a few dollars and have everyone try it. I think you'd be just as satisfied with some other Hi-Proformance chalk like the Predator or NIR. Both still a little pricy but not as bad. My personal favorite is the Brunswick, price is right, chalk is good.
I'll use my Kamui until it's finished, but only because it was $27.
Didn't like the Magic Chalk at all

Kamui is, by far, the best chalk out there but it's jut chalk. Like others have said, it won't improve your game. If you don't chalk a lot OR you like to use a lot of spin (or the nasty combination of both), you'll miscue less. If you're a center-ball hitter and you chalk your tip thoroughly before every shot, you're probably not going to notice a difference.

I've used it a quite few times. It definitely has a different, kind of pasty, texture. It stays well on your tip, but my own obsessive compulsiveness still makes me chalk my cue while contemplating my next move regardless of whether or not I need it.

I have a cube of the original stuff. I use it whenever I scuff or pick my tip. After that I use predator which I like alot. Seems having the base coat down with kamui is nice. I would use it more but I would leave it somewhere guaranteed so I just leave it in my case and bring it out for the base coat.

I've tried the .98 and the 1.21 and when my 1.21 one is done I'll be getting another cube of the .98 It seems to stay on better and I don't like to chalk after every shot.

I have been using blue diamond for a awhile and like it a lot more than master blue. I tried balabushka chalk and it seemed too hard. I haven't tried predator because of the odd shape (can't fit it into my chalk holder).
