Mike played in the Maine State 9-ball tourney at Forest City in early December, and of course won. Besides himself, there were 5 others rated above 700 in the tourney, so not a ton of top level competition for him. (Highest being 746) 95 players in the tournament.

That is generally a fixed amount that you're paying in, with a chance of a return on the investment. To me. Yes, it is playing for money, and there is something on the line, compared to funsies. But it's not quite the same as gambling sets. To me.
