I tend to agree.Watching the Texas open with guys wearing short pants, SVP with a baseball cap, its no surprise to me pool has no big sponsors anymore...
Not saying suits should be worn but whats wrong with black trousers and a polo shirt?
Exactly.Please. It is a weekend tournament at a pool hall and I think I saw they have a Calcutta. It’s not like sponsors would pony up 100k added if only the players dressed a little better.
Its the longest running tournament in the country. And they dress like that at Derby too.Please. It is a weekend tournament at a pool hall and I think I saw they have a Calcutta. It’s not like sponsors would pony up 100k added if only the players dressed a little better.
As far as black trousers and a polo shirt if they cant market themselves.I don't love it. Also don't love the idea of pool uniforms. If they're independent contractors and expected to market themselves as individuals, how far should restriction go?
Apparently, its the longest running tourney in the country. And whats difficult to execute dress codes? You adhere by them or dont play. Was this a pool room event or casino based. It’s sometimes difficult to have strict dress code standards in a poolroom.
On the stream just now the mentioned Predator as a sponsor. Yeah they dress like that at Derby. And I think it’s been a pretty successful. I kind of like T Rex’s shirts that say Don’t Be A Nit.Its the longest running tournament in the country. And they dress like that at Derby too.
The Skinny Bob’s logo is a guy with a backwards hat. I haven’t been there myself.Apparently, it’s the longest running tourney in the country. And whats difficult to execute dress codes? You adhere by them or dont play.

Yes, but in the years in which they fought for acceptance and recognition, the snooker players dressed for success, and it worked. They also proved that one can shoot very straight regardless of attire. They dress casual in snooker, too..?And there players can make millions.
I find a waistcoat with no jacket extremely offensive. And evening attire in the afternoon is way worse than pool hall gambling attire. Track suits, pinky rings, backwards hats etc… all more acceptable.Yes, but in the years in which they fought for acceptance and recognition, the snooker players dressed for success, and it worked. They also proved that one can shoot very straight regardless of attire.
Pool can, but has chosen not to, take notice.
I never said clothes makes the shooter. And what do you mean by they dressed for success? They dress excellently since the 60'ies and possibly before.Yes, but in the years in which they fought for acceptance and recognition, the snooker players dressed for success, and it worked. They also proved that one can shoot very straight regardless of attire.
