SVB vs Josh Filler announced for Feb 6th at NYC's Amsterdam Billiards

Maybe this will help SVB with his phobia of Filler.
Not really a good read here. The greats always have to pass the baton from generation to generation. Lassiter, Mizerak and Crane had to pass it on to Sigel and Varner, who had to pass it on to Strickland and Archer, who passed it on to Reyes and Parica, who passed it on to SVB, Wu and Appleton. Now, the torch has been passed to Filler and Gorst, and SVB has great respect for these two superstars that are the cornerstones of this generation of players. Equally true is that Fedor and Josh have great respect for SVB and everything he has accomplished.

SVB is a true marvel. Many on this forum, including me, feel he is playing the best pool of his life, and his recent Master of the Table title at Derby City was a heartwarming story. We won't know until the 2040's whether Josh or Fedor will have this kind of staying power, but I'd have to bet against.

If Shane is scared of Filler, a questionable proposition to begin with, it is merely the phobia that every generation of pros has of the next generation of cueists. It's just the natural progression of things. In this case, phobia is just a fancy word for respect.

YOU'S A SCARED OF EM

All jokes aside, I think everyone is scared of Filler, rightfully so. He's an alien and at times seems unbeatable.

The Ko Brothers' Youtube channel has a few interviews with Taiwanese pros and basically every one of them named Filler when asked "who are you most afraid of playing?".

That's honesty right there. I love their youtube channel btw, some great content. I get that no man wants to admit they fear another man on the pool table, but deep down in their soul, they know it to be true when it comes to Filler. He is as good as it gets. For now...until a new alien pops up in a few years. Maybe the young phenom Hayden will be the new extraterrestrial pool player.

Woooo, hold our horses, is this a GC4 with score counters? I got chased up and down the forum saying that WAS an early factory option, and everyone said I was making shit up.

In my mind, there's nothing better than a GC with green Simonis cloth and a set of Centennials.
My favorite pool tables in order are a 10 foot diamond blue label, a tie for second with a 9 foot blue label diamond and a Ernesto setup GC, and then any GC with decently tight pockets and then a red label diamond and anything else.

I wasn't going to argue with those who were saying Filler would run over Shane. Any of the top guys, Filler, Gorst, Shane, the Ko Brothers can run over anyone else on a given day.

It was a glorious evening at Amsterdam Billiards and thanks to all those who made it possible, most notably owner Greg Hunt.

Tonight, Shane was the better man, winning at both nine ball and eight ball. Perhaps the most amazing thing about this match was that Josh and Shane have both a World 9ball championship and a World 8ball championship on their career resumes.

Of all the exhibitions I have ever attended at Amsterdam, this was the best, featuring an absolutely magnificent level of play, good crowd interaction with the players, and great sportsmanship between the players (for example, if Shane did something special, Josh always cheered as hard as anybody).

Attendees were spoiled rotten, getting to play one-rack challenge matches against these two superstars and getting to meet them and get their autographs on cue balls, shirts and cases.

Bravo to both Shane and Josh for the way they conducted themselves. They were great ambassadors for pool,

SVB is not ready for pasture just yet. Though Filler, in my opinion, is the best pool player in the world of ALL GAMES, not just 9-ball, SVB is a master of ALL GAMES and can take down anyone on the planet, even Filler. Shane is an American GOAT and living legend. Filler has a little ways to go before he reaches that status.
