Ralf Souqet scratches at hill-hill in Quarters of Belgian Open

Hurts for sure. I have dropped the Cue ball in the opposite side pocket from where Ralf landed, on that same shot.
That hurts also.
I am glad to see The Kaiser running with the kids.
I've seen that scratch like yours in a TEAM event hill-hill! It was the sort of scratch that would be hard to accomplish just shooting the cue ball straight into the pocket.

Final just starting if anyone is interested. Felix Vogel v Tobias Bongers, according to the commentator Vogel has an opportunity to become the first person to ever defend the title.

Bongers had to come on straight after finishing his semi final, whilst Vogel had a bit of a rest. Think it's 11:15pm local time so going to be a late night finish for the players.

Deciding frame and the Kaiser manages to draw the ball into the side pocket.

Thought it was an interesting layout, wasn't an easy shot to be fair to Ralf and was interesting seeing/hearing him and Eklent discussing it after the frame finished.
That scratch was there since the beginning of time.

foolish to hit it like that. brain fart or just not competent. even a c player wouldn't take that route.

only real explanation is he tried to put english and he missed doing it.

i didnt listen to the chat.

I'm a banger but I think its more likely to scratch than not scratch hitting it like that.
I think it's possible to be sure you get below the side, but it may require too much speed to stay on the six. On that shot, you should be able to bring the cue ball back on the line you came in on.

looking at it, it looks like he was cueing some low left and hit it in the center. only explanation or he just choked on the shot for the win.

just a slow spin shot gives him an easy 6 ball. he can go up straight or 2 rails. depending.

even if he went past the 6 it still isnt hard for his caliber.

IDK.... it's Ralf for one, I doubt he's going to hit it bad... He also looks to have hit it fat (plus for him). And the OB looks like it was maybe 1mm off of the cushion (minus for him). Maybe the cloth was brand new and the spin didn't take as much?

It was a tricky situation for sure. I think I liked Kaci's choice of playing for the next ball in the upper left corner, but that other ball was big to get stuck behind.

Kaci played the BIH out like garbage too. He didn't go to the 2nd rail shooting the 7, and instead almost landed on top of the 8.

If it had hit the cushion an inch out either way, there wouldn't have been a second thought. My take is that's Souquet's version of a freewheeling wreck. His fault. Also a good symptom of some of the forces at work but, who you gon call?
