So if I match up with someone that I know has no chance because I'm hiding my speed better than he is, is that also fraud? Just wondering, I'd think it is, and he has to explain it to his wife later.
 
its a moral issue for some and doesn't need to be.

when in a gambling game you need to do that. do you think in a poker hand you need to tell your opponent that you have a great hand and he should'nt call your bet.

or the pitcher in a baseball game shouldn't pretend he is throwing a fastball and make it a curve.
or in foot ball do they need to let the other team know where they are passing to.
 
Those are widely accepted and acceptable strategies to try to defeat an opponent in a competitive endeavor that are within rules of the game that have been accepted by both sides. If you think they in any way comparable to colluding to fix the outcome of a competition then you have zero moral compass.

A handful have been in jail with a few more doing weird things like Charlie and the hotel.

Not that being in jail is any indicator of a moral compass, some charges have nothing to do with hurting others, maybe a perceived hurting.

Zero chance it was his either of his sisters. I'd probably go with the dad's theory on this one.
 
What does this mean to you the average pool player, AZ user?

If you see them you won't watch their matches?
You wont bet on either?
You wouldn't purchase in a calcutta?
Avoid them totally?

And maybe more importantly, what can they do to win back your trust or your interest in watching them. Haas to me was a great player to watch, even did a thread about him.
 
It sounds like what these guys did was illegal. In that case, they should end up in court and let the judge /jury sort it out. Fraud or stealing to me are about the same. If they are guilty they should spend some time in jail. That's how we clean up pool. I am surprised at how many people seem to give them a pass if they apologize and return the money as if the only thing they did wrong is get caught 🙄.

He has been erased from my memory. What he did was criminal, and he did it with intent. I could care less about how good he plays pool. I've never watched him play before so I guess I won't be missing much. Some people can easily look the other way if something doesn't directly affect them or their family, but I'm not one of those people.

You seem to be more invested in him, so what will YOU do?
