Dynaspheres and WNT Launch Major Partnership as the New Balls of the Tour

I remember this set. I am colour blind and these balls had no numbers…. I got a referee in a tournament to show me which ball was which….
I'm colorblind too! haha. Yeah, I'd HATE that set. How do you do with the Predator set today? I have my head on the table at least once a rack to see a number that happened to land directly on the cloth.

*I'm colorblind, may not apply to others*

This tournament is over, and I was able to watch a few matches on the WNTTV full production table, that had the ball's remaining graphic on the bottom of the screen.

I'm not 100% sure, but these may be the best balls for viewing, "for me", that I've ever experienced! I was able to distinguish the balls apart fairly well, and, combined with the graphic, I knew which was which.

Huge improvement "for me".

I'm a fan:)

That's awesome bro.

Are you colorblind by the way? I'm only asking because you mentioned it 4 times in this thread 😂 I'll take #5 as confirmation.

It’s like they took all my least favorite design choices and put them in a single Frankenstein set.
  • From purple 4 to Aramith Tournament pink 4
  • From orange 5 to Aramith Black purple 5
  • From green 6 to Cyclop mint 6
  • From blue 2 to Cyclop teal 7 as the 2
I get changing things for a better broadcast production. I just wish they would honor American pool by choosing color assignments intuitive to traditional US audiences.
I agree totally. The ugliest, most nonsensical ball set ever made, except maybe for the Aramith Black set.

EDIT: I just saw a set of dynaspheres in Vegas last week where the 6 & 14 were grey. You wouln't even see them on this WNT cloth. The rest of the colors were OK, with the 2 & 10 being a medium blue, and the 7 & 15 being cyclop robin egg blue. Make the 6 & 14 a kelly green, and this would be a nice set, visibility-wise

You gotta wonder where all of these ugly balls come from, is there an "ugliest pool balls known to mankind" contest going on that we are not aware of?? It seems every new set is worse than the last starting with the purple 5.

Or..and try to stick with me on this.. people have different opinions and like different shit!! I know mind blown that you two aren’t the end all be all. Lol I like the set they are using . Had no problem from the first match seeing what ball was what. I also have a set with the grey balls. That’s the tungsten set because I like to switch things up sometimes and I get them out and play a week or so with them. Do I personally think the cenentenials are still the most classic perfect set. Yup.. but I also get that has a sponser you want it to stick out and pop on tv and that’s what they do .

They make different ball sets for the same reason they make different color cue sticks.. because people like different stuff. Lol if you don’t that’s cool but stop acting like you speak for everyone. Because you don’t.

Seriously to the people pitching a fit.. if this is the worst thing that is happening in your life you live a pretty charmed life.

after having seen it in use now, i like it better than the aramith black. the teal ball is still too wonky for me
Yeah, the black one's worse - like a deadly beetle. Teal, I like. The problem is it needs more contrast to/from the two. I think experimenting with the relative color values would go a longer way than ugly balls. Like if the 9 had a hotter yellow than the one. Blazing pastels for the 9 and 10, and I suppose something else distinctive for the 8.

Nothing wrong with these balls.. you old timers like to complain about any change after decades of the same crap... it's time for a change..
Im 54 but I’m not an old timer and I’m cool with them. You are dealing with a group of people that 30 years after people started wearing gloves to play will call it gay and still say things like they would never lose to someone that wears one lol Pool players or people in general hate change.

I'm sure this is a consideration when a manufacturer is making a new set, and it's nice to get the input from people it affects. Glad the change works for you. I'm not huge on the look, but balls are balls as long as they're quality and don't blend in with the table (the gray cloth takes care of that though).
The only 2 things I've really noticed about current sets I don't like are the Arcos balls not being numbered on both sides (the panther is sharp, but replaces a number), and the 9 ball in this set not matching the other stripes.
