Bob, this shot makes me wonder whether there is a situation where the table referee can call for a second ref to watch the other part of the shot. Like what if this shot came up hill hill in the World Championship final? Especially if they don’t allow video review.

Now days for 3C there are pretty much 2 clothes (Simonis 330, Granito) used in World Major events!

Some European events use 'Royal Pro' Non-Wool cloth!

To be honest, just plenty of 'Practice' on New cloths!

The Non-wool cloths will play 'Faster/Longer/Slide/Spin', anywhere from 1.5-2.5 Diamonds 'Long' according the '50 Diamond System'!

And will keep that 'Characteristic' longer as the cloth ages!

Granito and Simonis 330 have '90% Wool/10% synthetic', the CB will 'Grab' more off the cushions a little 'Slower' but more consistent per the 'Diamond System'!

BTW, in Major events there are 'Designated Practice tables' at the beginning of the tournament!

This thinking is how refs get better and good/bad calls are properly handled is all. All refs have to evolve to do better for all sports. I sure would not of liked being a ref at the World Soccer event, allot more going on than the game at times.

I don’t speak Korean either. But I believe the white ball was supposed to hit 3 cushions after hitting the red ball and before hitting the yellow ball. In fact the CB hit two cushions and spun parallel to the cushion and then hit the yellow. The referee called it a point (saying it hit 3 cushions). The player refused to accept the point, knowing the referee got it wrong.
 
By the way, I just found a 10’ heated billiard table in my area. Tried playing some 3C last week.

Humbled. It doesn’t help that the balls are bigger, so the compensation for deflection takes some adjustment. And the balls roll FOREVER!

Tabb retired and iirc Rees is the tournament director for WNT. He no longer actively refs. The refs they use now are fine. No one is perfect, in the op's deal i think the call was right myself. CB never got a rail.

Interesting, was he competitive?

We've had some talks about the best pool+ 3c player on the azb and don't think he was mentioned...we don't know what we don't know.
