I mean, a McDermott Lucky cue is available, with 1x1 case, for $135 brand new. That's all anyone really needs. And that's just the first brand I thought of; I'm sure there are even less expensive quality options.
Just because the manufacturers are pushing $800 shafts and $60 tips doesn't mean pool equipment is out of reach for everyone.
