There are people who will say washing your hands too much is a bad thing, not all germs are bad, think herd immunity. When meeting someone I used to act like I was doing some serious double knuckle gold mining then stick the hand out for a shake and keep it out. The looks on some people's faces was priceless but most eventually shook hands. Custom and courtesy are hard to ignore!

Yeah, my college Biology professor for one and it's not even necessarily that all germs aren't bad. Your skin and especially your hands and fingers emit oils that protect your pores from allowing bacteria in. Washing too often washes away those protective oils.
I remember reading something a long time ago that chalking with your opposite hand does something mentally for your game.. damn if I can remember the details of the thought process why at this point lolIf you watch old videos on Accu-Stats, for example, you will see it was a common technique for players to chalk with their bridge hand, while holding their cue, in an almost grinding motion. Here is a screenshot of Earl doing that. That type of technique can easily leave lots of chalk on your hand, some of which easily gets transferred to the table.
If you paint the tip like most modern players do, I don’t think it makes a ton of difference which hand you use (unless you are really clumsy)
