Yes, very well said. I am. indeed, comparing her to those that went on to be the ones to beat at the majors. That is because my ultimate aim is to determine whether she will become one of them. Maybe she will, but let's not pretend we live in a world where teenagers are not breaking through when they are young. For example, the 18-year old Felix Vogel won a Predator major in June.

Oh, for sure. Top 25 by Fargo is a very realistic goal and I'm betting on her, not against her. Pia has numerous Euro-tour titles and numerous European Championships. Savannah doesn't have any thing close to this on her resume. Still, I'd agree that they don't seem 50 points apart.

Perfect way to describe it. Noticed this when they played in Las Vegas this year. Thought he left too little of the short shot clock for her on several occasions

In men's pro pool, eight ball goes back to 1900. Outside of the European championships, the women have tended not to compete at 8ball except in the amateur ranks. In its 50 year history, I don't recall even a single WPBA 8ball event.

For the women, 8ball is going to have a meaningful place in pool, but it doesn't yet. When measuring greatness in women's pool, I look at results in rotation pool, not the other disciplines.

What initially made Efren's IPT win meaningless was not getting paid.

That said, I agree that a WPA World Championship of any kind is an achievement, but at pro level, and this is true for the men, too, 8ball sits at the bottom of the pecking order, a fringe game rightly overlooked even at the greatest all-around pool competitions of all time, Johnston City and Derby City.

Guess you've made a good point. I agree.

It doesn't mean it's not a skill if with proper technique someone with difficulty in other aspects of the game can get good at it, it's still a skill, and jumping accurately for many shots requires EXTREME skill...lol

:edit: Also, there's a BIG difference between jumping the ball to make a hit and jumping a ball to make a shot with shape.

I have to wonder re: those Predator tables. Are the pocket liners plastic? They seem to spit back forceful shots hit straight in, much like a lot of early Gold Crowns (something the Diamonds never do).

Interestingly, Eight Ball was the third discipline (replacing 14.1) at the last Stardust tourney. Shorty won it.

A win against the 760+ tier would be a huge accomplishment, and big step in her quest to be competitive for the bigger international titles.
