Who broke the server yesterday 9/29/26?

A few 12AX7's burned out in the server....or Mike forgot to pay the bill... :P
It's been over 50 years since I tingled with pleasure and surprise to the B+ from a 12AX7:

For the young people, that's the size of a pickle and provides the function of two transistors. You carry billions of transistors in your pocket.

I have retired my tube amps. I have a couple of Dumble clones and once I set this rig up, Neural Quad Cortex and the Seymour Duncan PowerStage, I realized there was no longer a need for them. I cloned them. The tones this rig delivers is amazing.
I got a bunch of Chinese Dumble sims. Those are like always under 50 bucks. Rowins do Robben Ford right out the 30 dollar box lol. Some others you need to can play but the sonorities are mostly there. Solid state front end and EL84s going out. Can't complain.

This is as far into tubes I've ever been. The Bravo Audio V2 headphone amp. I've used it with a cheap Amazon DAC ($20?), a Schitt Audio Modi, and a Schitt Audio Bifrost (older model). You can buy all kinds of tubes depending on your musical preferences but I never got that far, was happy with the factory tube. It barely has enough power for my Fostex T50RP's but it does very well with my AudioTechnica ATH-M50X's with upgraded pads.

I've got a Fisher 400 and a McIntosh (forgot the model), both tube amps. Once upon a time I really enjoyed working on that kind of stuff. Now they're display pieces in a cabinet in the lobby. 😌

Like the hi end look. Brand not so much. :p

Tube amps are still on my to do list. Hard to beat solid state for the cost.
With modern amp modelers it is at that, but you still can't beat the warmth of a tube amp. I need to get a little 5 watt for in the house, my 100watt B52 half stack is a bit much for the house. The clip floating around on here of me covering van halen is on the b-52 with my old digitech 2120, that finally crapped the bed so I picked up a boss gx100, which is pretty tough to beat for the price.
