How many cues is too much?

Hello, I was wondering how many cues does the average player have.. right now I have two complete sets that include shooter, jump, and break in two different bags. So I can just grab the set I want and go... how many do you guys have and is this too much...
Usually 2-3 cues are average: One playing cue, one or two for break and jump.

And then, you have people like me. I have 5 JB 4x8s. Each is set up with two players, a break cue, and a jump cue. Also included are the requisite chalk, extensions, a cue holder, etc.

They are split up by joint pin. One 3/8x10, one radial, and so on. The main player in each bag is very similar to the rest of the main players. Same weight and balance point. Different wraps, but all have a 12.9 Revo or two to go with it. I recently got an EE wrap on the player I use the most and I will likely upgrade a few cues to that in the near future.

I shoot with the 3/8x10 bag for leagues, but switch it up once in a while. Roughly half of the ~70 cues I own are that pin.

I like your set up. I’m not quite so organized but I get it.

This one is going to be added or become a replacement to 2 cues in my inventory. This is the bem forearm(cored)+ebony combo. Would have preferred having those contrasting streaks of green, red, brown and black of the ebony visible with the coating but Its glassy enough aesthetically that I'm willing to overlook it. As per spec, this would be a bit rear heavy/less neutral. As opposed to the neutral bocote+cocobolo combo.
Anyway, this is just a simple minimalistic merry widow. As opposed to the other previous cue. Cant wait to play with it next week.

To me, it’s more important to have multiple shafts in your arsenal. One jump cue and one break cue are all one needs, but it’s nice to have at least 2 playing cues so you have an option to switch up if you are struggling with your game and just feel like you need a change, even though it’s all mental.

This would be me. And it works for me. Aside from that, the other cue is already set up with an extension butt as I hate using mechanical bridges and dont like putting the extension butt on and off when I need it. I dont want to waste time doing that.

two (player and jump/break) cues and a lot of shafts
Changing shafts is much worse than changing butts.
Changing butts but using the same shaft - the feel changes but the playability and performance stay the same.

Keeping the same butt but changing shafts - both feel and performance change.

So find the right shaft for you and stick with it, they all look the same anyway, but changing butts is fun 🤩 nice looking butts are satisfying to look at and feel great to grab (yes, all the puns are intended)

Something I would agree on.the only annoying part is the shaft that I mainly used has that delaminated part that triggers my old.
