I put on a carbide sanding mandrel .......... I sand to about .001 or .002 over size then put on a smaller mandrel and finish with the finer papers............. until it's at size.............. I do not use a block......... I sand by hand

you are just going to turn it off on the lathe and find out............. usually most are threaded and are 5/6-18 thread.................... at least it is a 5/16 unthreaded tenon.................... if it's a Meucci............. it can be funky.............. lol

radial thread is a ball thread and was never made for connecting two items.....................
