Feds "Crushing" 1 Ton of Confiscated Ivory in Times Square

It is an easy material to work with and commands a ridiculous price. Ivory inlaid cues are kind of a con. Ferrules and joints are a different thing, Some believe it plays better so they may want it.

    Wth?

I can only see what I can see from blowing up your picture, It looks like the maker may have used stripped instead of rolled phenolic. In that case it can split. I just went back and looked a little more at your picture and I am almost certain they did.

That is common going back to prohibition when they would take axes to barrels of beer. They commonly destroy guns they collect. I would not read too much into it.

What's wrong with my favorite pool hall?

I used to hang in a 24 hour place and we didn't start coming in till around 11pm and played all night. I have actually met people who hung out there and when you would mention, "I used to go there everyday" they look and say " I never saw you there". We kept different hours. The room had two...

    I am a bad salesman.

You just made a very good point. "ALL" the risk is being taken by the buyer. He is trusting the seller completely. The seller takes no risk at all and then goes as far as to violate the trust he has earned from the buyer. It is not the same as a buyer just backing out. The seller still has the...

What I found more amazing was he had to nerve to even tell me what he was doing. In his pea brain I guess he thinks it is OK.

What you say is true but there has to be a reasonable allowed time to the buyer to complete the deal. He is not in the same room with you. At a point we all have to be adults not children. If I get screwed, fine but I will not let that possibility grant me license to screw someone else.

I agree, you are not looking at making "Gone with the Wind " here. If you go to a film festival you will see dozens on films made very low budget and some win awards. Spike Lee made "Do the Right Thing" on money borrowed from credit cards that is how low budget he was doing it. You don't pay...

    I am a bad salesman.

I know you were being fair but in reality, you could not accept the second offer because the cue was no longer yours to sell, it was already sold. It is not even a close call as to what is right or wrong, the cue is already sold. At best you get the name of the second buyer and if the first...

Can I ask you a question and I have a reason for asking. How old are you?

    I am a bad salesman.

That is not an answer, it is rationalizing. It is what a child does when caught doing something wrong, "Well he did it to". I would like to think in a deal, I am dealing with someone with a mentality and reasoning beyond that of a child.

So how much more money did it take for you to sell out your integrity?

I think it would be hard because it is like telling the same joke over and over to the same audience. Ideally would not to leave with a big bank roll but actually build a bank roll on the road. I used to have a guy who worked for me and when ever he got his hands on some money he would take...

It is civil. They will have to spend 10's of thousands on a legal action. They would also have to prove they were damaged by the other party and to what amount. It better be a lot, or it will be deemed frivolous and they will be on the hook for the other parties legal costs. Once you sit in a...

    USPS Insurance Increase?

All you have to do is google something like "Have you ever had a claim paid by the post office" and read the horror stories. It seems that on broken items you have no chance even if they crushed the package. They will deny due to it not being packaged properly. It is a standard denial they use...

    USPS Insurance Increase?

I have gotten things from ebay that were shipped in USPS priority boxes wrapped in brown paper. If you bought these boxes from Office Depot they would be a few dollars a box but they are free from the post office.

    its just plain pathetic !

Stealing is one of the worst things someone can do to someone else. If you have ever been the victim it changes you. It is such a personal violation. I have had my house broken into, my car, my business. It is hard to describe the feeling when you walk in and find it, it takes away your sense...

They need to demonstrate how stable it is. On first look it seems like you can just knock your stick over. Not to mention if it did the stick will land on the tip with the butt elevated. I can see a stick snapping in two if it got knocked over. Other then it being mobil I don't see any...

    USPS Insurance Increase?

From my experience they have a system almost designed to ware you down. For starters if a package is lost it is like 90 before you can even make a claim. After all since no one knows where the package is it may show up. Then it will be months as they do their investigation what ever that...
