I believe it was the late Edwin Reyes that did a huge amount of testing with the ferrule having a tenon inserted into the shaft. His findings were that the shaft split more often than not & it was a poor design. If you search his posts maybe you can find the info as I remember it being...

John, just a thought....but what about our friend Scott? I know he's been excited to sponsor some champions in the past. That is if Mr. Brumback wouldn't mind sporting a nice Wave case or such if sponsorship was possible from a production case company.

Its not quite that simple. Sounds like you may want to try & replace it yourself? Your local cue guy knows what type of adhesive to use. Seriously...Westinghouse micarta capped is my favorite but you may not like it. Plus if your current ferrule is capped that means a small, short tenon...so...

Gary is correct...this is a fantastic playing cue. Something he failed to mention...its somewhat rare...one of the very few of mine with a linen wrap. I hate to see you part with it...but everyone understands needing Christmas money. Let me know when you decide you need another. Also note that...

Another option is using a Dremel and taking a bit off the top of the G10 pin. Here is a G10 pin that I shortened a bit...looks fine.
