    Bumpers in Huntsville

Jaden, it was a real pleasure to meet you and play today. Wish we could have played longer. Perhaps next time. You're a great shot, and I enjoyed learning from you. Appreciate you shooting with an arm tied behind your back, and having some mercy on me. LOL (Yeah, I laugh, but it's not...

    Point or no point?

I saw no hit. The alteration of path of the cue ball doesn't necessarily indicate contact. Unless there is clear and convincing evidence of contact, no point.

The guy WAS hit. He wasn't killed, though.

    Floor under for pool table

I have mine on tile, with no carpet around it. Had it on commercial type (thin) carpet, but the rug frayed around the edges over the course of a decade. Made the choice to put no-slip pads under the legs of the table when it was recovered last. That's worked out very well.

    Bumpers in Huntsville

Well, you were out on a Wednesday night. I can think of two reasons: 1) That's a big church night down here. 2) That's a big "Divorced Dad gets to see his kids night". APA is pretty big here. I have my own table, so I don't tend to go out, but I understand Bumpers does a pretty decent...

Has anyone tried out any of the fake cheap copycat cues from China?

Why pay good money to bore the hell out of one guy when you can bore the hell out of dozens for free?

And other forum members are free to respond as we see fit, within guidelines established. "Bullying" and "insulting"? No, they are neither. They are comments on the quality of the thread and the repetitive nature of similar threads by that poster. [G]arczar is right. This guy doesn't learn...

Yep. Read the title before I looked at the author's name. Knew it before I read it.

    nickel or dime tip radius

I like a nickle shape. Forgiving, but able to put effects on the cueball when needed.

    Point of a good cue?

I have always looked at the top end of good playing cues. Inlays, veneers, etc. mean very little to me. My playing cue is a Mezz EC-7 with cocobolo wood (my one concession to looks). No points. No veneers. No inlays. Nothing fancy. Just a really good playing cue that looks nice. I think...

    Point of a good cue?

I notice that in Tor Lowry's vids, he seems to use a sneaky pete of some type, and seems to do quite well. I would guess the pros use what their sponsors tend to want them to use, to try to drum up sales. I have a feeling SVB could beat most of us with a rake handle, so long as the tip was...

    Leather and Wood-Safe for storage?

I would think quality leather would have oils or something in it to preserve the leather, and might leech into something absorbent or prone to accepting moisture if left in contact for long periods. Not terribly sure, but I wouldn't chance it. Oh, and welcome!

    Jump Break cue question

I got one of these as a birthday present, and I really like it. Didn't cross-check against your list of wants, but thought I'd throw it out there. http://www.ozonebilliards.com/lucuel2jubr.html?utm_source=msn&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=product%20listing%20ads&utm_id=lucuel2jubr

Which Cloth is better Simonis 860HR or Champion Tour Edition

I had Championship Tour 760 cloth and now 860HR by Simonis. Simonis, hands down. The Championship cloth was prone to white marks where the ball was spun, and although I don't think any cloth is immune to it, I've seen less of it with the Simonis.* The feel of the cloth is better, too. Went...

    Zero-X vs. VEPS

I'm looking forward to seeing all of your videos, too, Dave. I like your instructional style. I get the sense that your videos will help me expand my understanding of the "why" and enable a higher level of play. The structured drills were what pushed me to Zero-X initially. Here's a virtual...

    Zero-X vs. VEPS

Follow-up post Got Zero-X as an early birthday present (43 on the 31st), and have been doing the drills for about 10 days. The first drill can be mind-numbing, but it was important. I didn't do the full 2000 reps he recommends, but went past 1,000. I was to the point where I could close my...

Iranian women pool players banned for "un-Islamic" acts

If you didn't want it to turn into NPR, you shouldn't have made an unsubstantiated political post. It's evident that your intent wasn't to avoid politics. It was to avoid having your drive-by opinion challenged. To lump Koresh and McVeigh in with the "Christian Right", which is generally seen...
