Yes, sorry, all public facilities in NJ are non-smoking. You'll have to step outdoors, where I'm sure many others will be smoking as well :)

Hi Donny, The balls in the Pro Event will be Aramith, dad is pretty sure just regular red dot, no measle ball - but he is going to double check. In the future, the best way to contact him (or me) for a question is to just call (609)652-6116 or email info@superbilliardsexpo.com I try to get to...

    Contacting Allen Hopkins

Anyone is always free to call the business line at any time, preferably normal work hours of course :) The business line goes direct to him, he carries it everywhere. If he doesn't answer, it just means he's busy at the moment, but he'll call you back. I laugh sometimes, because he still has one...

    Cameras at the SBE

Hello, you are welcome to bring a camera and take pictures. We ask that no flashes be used in the Pro Arena, or in any playing area really. If the use of flashes becomes a problem, then we will have no other choice but to begin announcing that no cameras are allowed in the Pro Arena. This could...

    shopping venue

You're welcome... Since you may not know, my father is the producer of the event, and I do a lot of help with the marketing, promotion, etc... So, yes, I have attended these expos before. I cannot tell you with any certainty as to what the pricing offered at the event will be in comparison...

Super Billiards Expo coming April 4-7 - new location in Edison, NJ

Hello everyone, I posted this message in Tournament Announcements, but shortly after posting, the AZHousePro was kind enough to create this section just for the Super Billiards Expo, so I am re-posting here as an introduction. We wanted to let everyone know that the Super Billiards Expo is...

    shopping venue

I think you will find many great deals at the Super Billiards Expo, probably no better place to have access to so many cuemakers and retailers under one roof! There will be a section of over 30 booths for the ACA (American Cuemakers Association) and another section of 10 booths comprised of ICA...

New game to try out, opinions wanted...

Thanks, good luck! Here is a link to a PDF file of a standard scorecard I came up with... If you want to use them. Each printout is essentially 2 scorecards, you can track up to 16 racks per page... http://www.105straightrotation.com/pdf/105ScoreCard.pdf There is also a more in-depth...

New game to try out, opinions wanted...

Ball in hand. If you pocketed a ball, it gets spotted. I am leery about people scratching intentionally to get ball in hand, but I think the minus 5 points is enough of a deterrent. May have to be modified after the game is played a lot and we see how it effects things... Also, it is a scratch...

New game to try out, opinions wanted...

Yes, this is very similar to his rating system ... slightly odified also to make it more of a "game" rather than a "rating system" although it accomplishes both. Naturally, he was the first one I showed it too and we kinda fine tuned some of the elements of it. He's a pretty knowledgeable guy ;)...

New game to try out, opinions wanted...

Yes, I agree - weaker players may get frustrated -- same way I do on the golf course banging the ball all over the place :) The cool thing though, after a few racks of playing - you can really start to establish an average and a handicap, just like bowling. So now, an APA2 for example may get...

New game to try out, opinions wanted...

Haha, thanks - I agree Fargo sounds more challenging. My intent was to try and neutralize variables and give everyone a chance at the same score -and then see who performs best over time. Keeping score isn't really all that complicated, because typically everyone will keep 11-15 for the last 5...

New game to try out, opinions wanted...

Thanks! You've picked up on the reasons I like it too... And if you do a tourney, I would definitely rotate racks so each player gets to the table often... I've got lots of ideas, I'm just gonna list them: - You could have a "leaderboard" type thing. In reality, all players in an event could...

New game to try out, opinions wanted...

Haha, I don't think it sounds all that easy to begin with! Interesting game, I like this - I've never heard of it before. Although I've played my dad 8-ball this way, he has to shoot in rotation and I do not. Still can't beat him though! :)
