Average Age Of An Active AZB'er?

I'm 33, up to this point in the thread I have 41 answers (excluding vampires) and an average of a little over 48 (48.9268 for anyone wanting to recalculate from a known point).

True OR False: Is Kamui chalk used as a base primer before normal chalk?

On the chance this is a legitimate question: I tried out a friend's kamui chalk and used it by itself on a clean tip (wiped free of chalk) and as a base coat for Masters. In neither instance could I tell any difference in the performance over my usual use of Masters before each shot. While I...

Lots of Custom Cues But Only a Scanty Amount of Custom Cue Cases

The wait list has good days and bad, if I'm not included in the "most" category then I apologize and will work on it. I can't see how a reasonable person could conclude that JB Cases product line doesn't include custom work. Aside from maintaining an appropriate oblong shape to house cues, I...

    John Barton's exercise routine video

Sitting at my desk watching a YouTube video while eating M&Ms and drinking a Coke... I'm not in a position to judge or laugh at all! If it gets you moving around and gets your heart rate up, go for it! Nothing says you can't enjoy exercising.

Bar Rules Like Wildfire Part 28

When I was transitioning from banger to terrible player, I'd play people for drinks or a couple bucks in bars. There's a list f things I'd have to go over, including the scratch on break loss rule, before we could start. It's bizarre some of the stuff I had to clarify for a $2 beer.

    Heavy vs. Light Break Cue

As this debate is so highly subjective, we can only offer personal preferences and opinions. For me, trying to maximize speed (regardless of cue weight) magnifies stroke flaws and gives varying results. I've found that I can maintain control up to about a 20 mph break (as measured with the...

My personal cue vs. Bar cue

Tip radius might be the easiest change to make. In my simple (and often wrong) line of thinking, the flatter radius will contact closer to center for a given offset. In other words, the effective contact point of your nickel radius tip isn't as low on a draw shot as the dime radius tip on the...

Found a cure for aging eyes

When it's an option, LASIK is even better than contacts. Wear contacts for 30+ hours in a smokey pool room and tell me what your eyes feel like when you take the lenses out. I guess what I'm saying is... LASIK will play the glasses/contacts race to 7 winner. Anything that makes you see...

    Cue stick question

You're correct in your thinking. If your order had been filled correctly, that same cue may have been sent but the bolt would've been removed at the vendor shop. Just look at it like this: you bought the cue and got a 2 oz weight bolt for free!

    Morakami tips question

Seems relevant: Joe Dirt: So you're gonna tell me that you don't have no black cats, roman candles, or screaming mimis? Kicking Wing: No. Joe Dirt: Oh come on, man. You don't got no lady fingers, fuzz buttles, snicker bombs, church burners, finger blasters, gut busters, zippity do das, or crap...

Finally finished up the 2 Gold Crown 1's I took in to rebuild.

My biggest complaint with my GC3 is the pocket shelf depth. Mark Gregory did my rails and I haven't played on a better Brunswick, but the 4.5" corners accept some balls that hang on the deep shelf of a Diamond. Not a flaw in the table or how it plays, just a difference that's bit me a few times...

    Non-leather tip trimming by hand

White Diamond tips seem as hard as any I'll mess with, so that sounds promising. Thanks!

    Non-leather tip trimming by hand

Hello cuemakers! I install leather tips on my own cues with a Willard tipper/trimmer and get results that are good for me. Knowing in advance that a lathe is the preferred tool for the job, I'd like to ask for any recommended tools/methods for trimming phenolic or thermoplastic tips for my...

    Loose Racks

I'd probably play things out and depend on the resulting clusters to play a more strategic game. If I lost the match, I'd go to the mall and get the guy at the "custom dog-tags and license plates" kiosk to make me a sweet "Beast +1" dog tag to make it clear who the better player is.

    deadbeat customer

I would make it clear that any sale by you will be solely to recover your costs. The expectation of giving him the difference sounds like a set-up leading to accusations of YOU owing HIM after selling the cue for less than he believes it is worth. People are assholes sometimes.

    Ferrule cracking diagnosis

I've learned a lot from this section, and in particular this thread. I will request a fiber pad be installed at the next ferrule replacement and hope that the easy fix works for me. I am curious about one answer though... Is it generally frowned upon as abuse to jump with a playing cue? We're...

    Ferrule cracking diagnosis

It's a standard shaft, and the ferrule is 1". I don't know the tenon diameter or whether it's threaded. I've read an old post from Larry Vigus saying that he saw Juma crack from tips being too thin. How small can the tip get before it should be replaced? I thought I was being pretty...
