    Diamond arrived update

Not trying to start a war here with my question. A local table mechanic, and a Diamond fan, said he thought Rasson tables were good tables. What are the thoughts here about Rasson?

Althea Crane has joined her husband Irving Crane

God Bless her. Mr. Crane was a true gentleman and I still enjoy watching him play in old videos. In February 1939, at age 26, Crane ran 150 balls and out against his opponent in an exhibition straight pool match on a difficult 5' by 10' table in Layton, Utah. While this was impressive in and of...

    PREDATOR ARCOS II Question

I've looked and could not find an answer. I know Aramith makes the Predator Arcos II balls but do they use Aramith DURAMITH as they do in the Aramith Tournament balls?

Predator Second Skin in XXL sell for $9.00 on the Predator website. To me they are the best glove at a great price.

An Idea that actually did work.

I never knew the extent of gambling on bowling until a late night visit to the Gil Hodges Lanes on Ralph Ave. in Brooklyn in the mid 1960s. I had watched crazy money pool gambling at the Golden Cue on Queens Blvd. in Queens, NY but the bowling gambling I watched wasn't far behind. And the...

An Idea that actually did work.

Herrill Lanes was on Herricks Road & Hillside Ave. at the northwest part of Mineola. The pool hall I mentioned was on the south side of Jericho Turnpike a couple of miles west of the Sheridan Bowl. It was near the Mineola Village Hall. Sheridan Bowl was on the southeast corner of Jericho...

An Idea that actually did work.

I remember it well and grew up bowling there 50+ years ago. I've been wracking my brain trying to recall the name of the pool hall on Jericho Turnpike between Mineola Blvd. and Willis Ave. in Mineola. I spent much time there before I went away to far away places. A guy named Izzy ran the place...

By what method did you come to that conclusion?

    New cue ball thoughts

The Aramith Black cue ball is a Tournament (Duramith resin) ball and supposedly of somewhat better quality than Pro Cup measles ball. As far as I'm concerned the Pro Cup balls are pretty darn good quality themselves.

To Buy: Uni Lock Butt (only)

Search "Predator Cues" on Ebay and many "Butt Only" items will be shown. Mainly sold by a vendor named Budget Billiards. I have dealt with them and they are reputable with quick shipping.

    New cue ball thoughts

Just bought one from KOINNKID. I find the Black measles ball less distracting than the red dot one.

    Irving Crane

A little off topic but I have a question. I just watched an old tournament ( on YouTube) between Irving Crane and Luther Lassiter. I noticed they, especially Wimpy, kept a very short distance between their bridge and the cue ball. Was this more of a trend years ago. They sure did well with it.

    Carbon fiber shaft cleaning techniques..

I keep my hands clean and use Tao Pyro chalk. I use a Predator wipe on my Revo shaft only once every 10-days or so. Don't mind the cost.

What Cues/Shafts do the Professional Players Use?

What do those guys use? Tried to search it and couldn't find anything. Then again I am an old and easily confused man.

    Diamond arrived update

Made in America doesn't avoid adverse criticism here. I recently bought an 8x4 Olhausen and some here didn't fail to inform me that I made a mistake and thought a made in China Brunswick was a better choice. If the owner is happy with his or her table that's all that matters.

    Funny pic/gif thread...

In Vietnam at Hill 327 (Freedom Hill) southwest of Danang you could buy a Mustang, or other car, and have it waiting for you when you returned home, if you returned home.

    Chalk dust

I am unable to make the Taom Pyro chalk mark an Aramith Tournament ball regardless of how much or often I chalk. Amazing stuff.

Simonis’ response how to clean and care for their cloth. but one question I got

Hard well water here. I don't like the idea of water on the cloth but if I were to do it I would probably use distilled water.

    Diamond arrived update

The Poncho Liner at about the 50 second mark brought back old memories.

    Diamond arrived update

Companies do make mistakes and all that matters is that they make it right. Looks like it is going that way.
