A race to 9 in 10 bal takes 2 hours and 15 minutes, and you blame it on the scheduler? How much time would you schedule for a match like that?

    Try This/Shot Execution

Try getting set on the shot and then closing your eyes when you actually shoot. If your mechanics are all sound, and you are lined up on the shot right, you will make the shot. Doing this can force you to get the mechanics right again. We sometimes get lazy and don't line the shot up right to...

Make a valley bar table less noisey?

I filled the box with insulation and glued felt on the ball returns. That helped quite a bit.

Using Phone to Record Close Hits

The problem with using a camera, and I've seen it happen, is the person watching the shot is watching the camera instead. That's fine until something happens and the camera doesn't get it conclusively. I've seen where the camera for some reason didn't record the shot. Probably operator error...

    Pool table upstairs?

It won't be a problem if you're building new. You just have to be sure to put the right floor trusses in to handle the weight. Pre-fab wouldn't be built to hold that weight, but if you are ordering it, I would think it could be built into it.

SVB cheating? Shaw/SVB Derby 9 Ball

I've played on some tables where that is about as tight as you can get them! Hard to get a tight rack when balls are different diameters! Lol

SVB cheating? Shaw/SVB Derby 9 Ball

Jason made the wing ball with a soft break his 1st 2 breaks, and barely missed it on his 3rd break. When it didn't go in on his 3rd break, he seemed really surprised, almost like it was a forgone conclusion that that ball would be in the pocket.

Against the vulgarity and filthy language

I agree. There were a couple of posts in the action room thread during the spot shot match that were out of line. If you don't like the match, simply say so and move on. You don't have to go into detail of all the things you find more enjoyable.

    Our top US players

Tin Man you did the right thing. You made a deal and you stuck to it. Nothing wrong with it. As far as the US players not going to Qatar, I don't blame them one bit. I'd stay in my own backyard too if possible. Especially after just playing the Mosconi cup. As far as the Mosconi cup goes, about...

Posted by the VNEA league coordinator

I was playing in a tournament where someone did just this on an open table. I thought it was wrong, so I asked a friend of mine that is a certified VNEA ref. He had his opinion, but had never had it happen to him, so he e-mailed the head ref of the VNEA, who said that you could indeed select...

While I agree with what you are saying, the vnea refs have been instructed that it is legal to designate your group, and call a safe on the same shot.

Any good players look at CB last?

If you are shooting good, and feeling comfortable, you can just close your eyes on your final stroke and play at about your normal level. It's really more about how you address the shot. What you are looking at on the final stroke isn't the deciding factor on making the shot.

    The Lion vs The Lambs

I know these kids, and I know they have spent some time playing Shane also. There was a video of Taylor playing 9 ball against Shane in a short race.

    US Open brackets

I checked it and it was turned on. Just for the he'll of it, I turned it off and then I could see the winners side of the bracket, but nothing on the left side. This is the only tourney I have had problems viewing the brackets.

    US Open brackets

I'm using Chrome on a Samsung Galaxy S7 and can't see it. A part of it comes up and as soon as I touch the screen to drag it around, it disappears.

Is there any place to see the brackets that are viewable on a mobile device? The ones on here are impossible to navigate.

Safety after the break 8 ball BCA rules & groups

I got my info from a VNEA ref, who wasn't sure, so he checked with the head VNEA ref. I absolutely do not agree with it, but that is the info that I have gotten.

Safety after the break 8 ball BCA rules & groups

What you did is allowed in VNEA leagues. That is the problem with each orginaztion having there own rules.
