Mika Best I've every saw in 60 years.

How about Joe Davis, world champ for 20 consecutive years and never beaten by anyone?

Mika Best I've every saw in 60 years.

Yeah, Mika didn't look at all like a guy who just got crushed playing ten ball a week ago. You can summarize the whole situation with three words: LOL nine ball!

In regards to Earl and various racks, racking

What I find hilarious is that when guys like Earl, Johnny, and Tony Elin first came along all the old dog pros complained that they had this 'unfair advantage' and that their huge breaks were 'taking the play out of the game'. Then Corey Deuel comes along and figures out how to run more racks...

    Eliminating luck, US Open 9-Ball

I got to this thread a little late but to those who are saying nine ball is an inherently flawed game, I agree 100%. It was invented as a fast way to gamble on a pool table and that's where it should be relegated in my opinion. It has no place in the professional game anymore, pure and simple...

Wondering where the worst refs in the world are? May I present the BCA...

Sorry I disagree here. PGA golfers and even the mini-tour guys call themselves for rules violations all the time. It's probably the most honorable sport there is from that respect.

BCA Nationals Ref - Borrow a jump cue?

Here are some interesting comparison rules from around the world of sport... In tennis a player can bring as many rackets to a match as he or she likes. Most pros bring as many as 15 or 20. They can change rackets at any time and, if they break a string, they can have the racket sent out to...

Wondering where the worst refs in the world are? May I present the BCA...

Mostly because like I said earlier probably 9/10ths of them could be eliminated if the refs had any kind of decent training. It's clearly not an issue where the refs themselves are just morons, but whoever trains them must be, because they have been doing a fairly lousy job for years and years...

Thoughts on the two controversies of the final of US Open 10B?

That's true, but when the match was over Ebdon's average time per shot was 29 seconds, compared to 23 seconds for O'Sullivan. So there was all that controversy over what amounted to a 6 second difference. They also asked Ronnie in the press conference after the match what he thought of...

Thoughts on the two controversies of the final of US Open 10B?

Sorry, but I think the 'main thing' is to have the best player win the tournament, don't you? If that's not the primary objective then the tournament needs to be renamed and called an exhibition or something. It certainly shouldn't be called a 'championship tournament'. Matches running over...

Wondering where the worst refs in the world are? May I present the BCA...

I've done it plenty of times too. My complaint is less about the people who actually do the job and more about those who train them, because it's pretty clear that their training program is atrocious. You can tell that by watching one reffed shot and seeing where and how the guy positions...

Wondering where the worst refs in the world are? May I present the BCA...

God the officiating in the amateur event is HORRIBLE with a capital wow! I happened to stop in to watch for a bit and caught one of the women's games. So clearly one of the girls (girl A) had ran stripes to the eight and missed it, so the other player (girl B) is slowly taking down the solids...

Impact of call shot on US Open 10 ball

I don't think the addition of the call shot was necessary. In my opinion it takes a little something away from the game watching guys calling obvious shots, and the amount of 'luck' that there is in the game tends to visit everyone equally. Basically I think it took a little something away...

Thoughts on the two controversies of the final of US Open 10B?

This whole thing where the ref just walks up and adds games to the wire in the matches has to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. No wonder pool is such a gong show! First of all, we're in goddamn LAS VEGAS. There's no closing time to worry about, who cares if one match or two runs...

Any Problems If Using Snooker Fundamentals To Play Pool??

Here's a similar shot by Corey Deuel (at 1:51). It's worth noting that he didn't amp up nearly as much as Neil did on his similar shot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8L85wpzf9F0&feature=PlayList&p=C59458CB23239A5D&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=61 I've played both games for 20 years and I...

Snooker World No. 1 John Higgins in betting scandal

^ I agree 100%. The statute of limitations has long since past in terms of any criminal liability for what happened, but that doesn't and shouldn't stop the truth from coming forward. For whomever asked whether there would be legal ramifications of a lifetime ban on Higgins, I would expect...

Snooker World No. 1 John Higgins in betting scandal

If the full video plays out as bad as the one on YouTube then he should be suspended FOR LIFE! That's exactly what I would do if I was Barry Hearn. That's the only thing that sends the kind of message to the public that they need. Otherwise every single match you ever watch you'll doubt the...
