    Super Glue Crowned Seam Question...

When Donny (SDBilliards) reworked my Gold Crown, he repaired a slight crown on the head slate exactly as Jim describes: screw it and glue it. Works great.

    FS: Varney jump break cue

Good luck with your sale, Gary. I sure as hell wouldn't sell my Varney j/b for that price.

Price drop on my first recuts!

That's a beautiful cue, Doug. I don't normally care for tulipwood (too boring), but that's some sweet looking tulip you've got there. Very nice. Howard

What exactly makes a Diamond the better table??

I bought a Gold Crown V last year. All of the wooden parts, including the rails, were made in Brazil. All the hardware was made in the U.S.A. No Chinese parts at all. (Assuming that the "Made in ---" printing on all the boxes were correct.)

    Custom cue

I have a couple of Arnot cues, and they are excellent players. Also be sure to contact Doug Patrick; I recently bought a cue from him and am very happy with it. You can't go wrong with a cue from either of these gentlemen. Howard

Do you use a special coin to "flip" for Break ?

Many, many years ago (before the price of gold got stupid) , I carried the coin shown in my avatar in my case, and used it for flipping, marking, whatever. Now it stays locked up and I flip my last remaining nickel.

    Silver flipping coins

That's really cool, Jay. I'd love to have a real one in that condition. I noticed that the eagle on the reverse of that coin is almost identical to the one on this coin, which was minted over a hundred years later. I guess they found a design they liked (or a lazy artist).

    Arnot BEM Cue

Good choice, Michael. Arnot makes a great playing cue. I like the lizard with the maple. Maybe I'll replace my linen wrap. -Howard

Doug Patrick Fully Cored and Threaded

I bought my first Doug Patrick cue last week (pictures here). The cue is 59", with a 29" butt and 30" shaft. The wood, fit, and finish on the cue are flawless. Beautiful figure and color in the cocobolo. Fine attention to detail in construction is apparent throughout, from the alignment of all...

Good choice, k2. My two Arnots are the best hitting cues I've owned. I hope you're as happy with yours as I am with mine.

    What's Going on with Saluc

I was very pleased to read your post. All the kids today use chainsaws. It's nice to know there are still some who respect tradition.

who makes the best plane janes?

What do you mean "plain"? Just look at all that fancy ring work. Here's a very plain jane Arnot that I've had for 8 or 9 years. Great playing cue. One of my all-time favorites. Howard

Wow Kind of Suprised to See This !!

You know, Jay, he makes as much sense as most of the other reasons given why women can't compete against the men. This is what I'm hearing:
