    Gambling beginer.

In all my years of playing leagues, I can't remember but a few people that liked to gamble for anything over a beer. Just keep asking around, you'll find someone that plays your speed, that likes to gamble some. I think that for most, league night is more about the fun and getting together with...

Long Ahead or 15-20 Game Sets? (long)

In theory,I think the "X-ahead" sets favor the better, more fit player. It brings in the variables that shorter sets might not, such as fatigue etc. Unfortunatly, IMO, The longer sets for the bigger monies also bring in the chemistry majors. Too many times, I think that the winner of the set is...

    Looking for a needle

Thanks for all the responses. My customer has decided to replace the phenolic at all postions to get a good match, then refinish the cue.

    Looking for a needle

I've got some of this stuff. It's more of a brown. My pics probably don't show it but the stuff I need is almost a red/burgandy color. Thanks

    Looking for a needle

In a hay stack.:) THis cue came to me for repair. It was made in the mid-90's . The butt cap is cracked and it's made of the reddish brown phenolic stuff that's no longer available. Would anyone possibly have a line on where I can get a piece about 1 in long? If not, would anyone have any...

    Les Blevins

He lived in Ashland, Ky back in the 90's when I bought my cue from him. I heard rumors that he got a job with the post office and stopped making cues. Good Luck

    Discussion" Blanks Blanks Blanks

What about the high end guy that has an apprentice or employee that's using a dedicated machine indexing and cutting points, glueing up veneers, then running the blanks through a taper machine and spraying and buffing the finished cues. Shouldn't that makers demand and price suffer? It doesn't...

    CueComponents

There's no telling with Joe. It could be that something's backordered, or it could be that he's decided that he don't like you and doesn't want your business. He can be a queer bird at times.

How much should lessons from a top pro cost?

All you have to do with Mike is catch him out some where. Everytime, I've been around him, he hasn't had any problems telling everybody that would listen how great he is or how extensive his knowledge is.

    Black w/White Speck Wrap

I agree that some cues would look better with different wrap choices, but black and white go pretty good with about any color combo's. When all else fails, go black with white specks. I probably install it 5-1 over any other wraps.

    New It,s George Cues

Did Mike ever build the cues? I met him back when he first started making cases. I had heard that Bill Schick had trained some boys to build cues for Mike. Don't know, Just curious.

I use devcon with no complaints. You can buy it at wal-mart. comes in a 2 part syringe. I used to buy the bigger bottles at lowes, but local lowes has stopped carrying them. Now they only carry the stuff that dries yellow.

    Black Bank Pool Players

The story that I always got concerning bank pool in Ky was....Nine ball, in some communities, if not the whole state was illegal to play at one time because of its gambling history. So, bank pool was the game of choice for many rooms. I can go to my local room and if the older guys are in there...

Anyone have this type ringwork made up

Greg, it looks to me as though it's indexed in 8 position. From the pics, it looks like 4 positions have a single thin black veneer and 4 positions have a thick black/thin blue/thick black combo. Can't the small slots be cut indexing 6 spots per cut, then change to the thicker cutter, index the...
