Dieckman Izz Looking For An Apprentice

You're in Michigan? You should give up the cold northern winters and move to the Orange Park/Middleburg, FL area where winters are nice and mild. In that case, I would gladly be your apprentice! In no time at all we would give all the big cue builders already here a run for their money!

    CTE aiming.

Dave, Am I understanding the last sentence in your post correctly? Are you saying that CTE only works IF the distance between your bridge and the CB is less than the distance between the CB and the OB? If that's true, then there's a whole lot of shots on the pool table that CTE does not work...

    Skinnier J&J jump break?

The one I had was 14mm but it wasn't the thickness that bothered me so much as the fact it was very sticky. I took it over to Dale Perry's shop and had him turn it down to 13mm and it worked much better.

    Dale perry rant

Dale was an accountant before he was a cuemaker. He's not lacking in business experience. I see him every week as he plays in our APA 9-ball league. A nice guy and shoots good.

    Whats the best play here?

Precisely what I was suggesting as my first option above.

    Whats the best play here?

With the layout as depicted in your cuetable, I would have caromed the one in the corner hitting the tit of the pocket first sending the one off the 15 into the corner pocket and the 15 off the rail clearing the corner for the 8. Using follow, the cueball ends up on the rail straight in behind...

    Weight bolt, heavy 1 inch???

Evan can be slow with emails at times. I would try getting him on the phone.

    Weight bolt, heavy 1 inch???

If I were you, I would send the cue to Evan at Schon and have him add the weight you want since my understanding is those bolts are glued in. That cue is too rare and special to risk damaging it. I also have an old Schon from the early 80's. An R12/15 and I wouldn't let anyone other than Evan...
