    Looking for a good instructor.

Boy howdy, I sure was. I was in Des Moines teaching Mike Athens on 5/11, and could have easily come up to Sioux City. To the OP...contact me and I'll put you into my schedule for the next trip through Iowa! Scott Lee 773-551-7473

Stolen cues alert! Lafayette LA last Monday night.

I was on the end of a 6 week, 7000 mike road trip. I just spaced out taking the case into my room. All those who mentioned how dumb it was to leave them in the car are right...but that doesn't change the outcome! Scott Lee

    Maintained versus Un-maintained Tip

Sometimes this is true...sometimes not. When the tip sidewall is the thickness of a dime, it's time to replace the tip, or you could damage your ferrule on a very hard stroke. That said, I have a 70 year old friend of mine who is capable of playing lights out...and his tip is thinner than a...

Is it the Shaft or the Tip?

This is mostly baloney (with some validity given to the table cloth and conditions...high humidity makes it more difficult to draw with anything)! Tip size, shape, hardness, etc have very small effects on draw. Being able to draw easily and effectively is 99% about having a quality stroke...

should aim for particular part of the pocket?

Absolutely Bob...and then it becomes all about speed. All parts of the pocket are more forgiving when you don't try to RAM it into the pocket! Scott Lee

Question for Instructors, have you ever said?

Only once for me...and I almost capitulated and went to see that student again. Fortunately his brother advised me not to, as it would be a waste of my time...so I drove on by! Scott Lee

I believe some instructors can actually ruin your game!

Very true Chris. I have worked successfully with many players who are the best in their regions. EVERY one of them was most interested in developing a more accurate and repeatable stroke (which, as dardusm said, must be able to be performed at all speeds from a lag to a full out break)! Once...

Okay...As of right now, the reward is $1000 CASH to anyone with information resulting in me finding my gear! CALL ME if anyone finds anything! Scott Lee 773-551-7473

Stolen cues alert! Lafayette LA last Monday night.

Thanks Rick! I'm hoping that you or some other local AzBr will find my stuff at one of the pawn shops. I have already started calling the list of pawn shops in Lafayette. Scott Lee 773-551-7473

Stolen cues alert! Lafayette LA last Monday night.

Dan...I honestly feel that it was some low life living at the hotel. I doubt they even play pool, so it may turn up at a pawn shop yet. Scott Lee

Stolen cues alert! Lafayette LA last Monday night.

Very kind of you Dan...that said I am still waiting to hear if I will get any compensation from auto or homeowner's policies. You know how much I love teaching. The day this happened, I was on my way to work with a gentleman in Denham Springs LA. Never said a word to him about this, and...

Stolen cues alert! Lafayette LA last Monday night.

I did get a call from the Lafayette Police yesterday. So far they have been unable to meet up with the property manager, in order to check the security cameras. Not surprising as this property had the office shut down, and the only access was the night window. Scott Lee

Stolen cues alert! Lafayette LA last Monday night.

I did not go to any Lafayette pool rooms on this trip...just visiting friends, and doing private lessons. The theft occurred a week ago tonight...so far no luck in finding them. Scott Lee

Should I open a pool room?

Here's how you can make a million dollars in the poolroom biz...start with two million! LOL...and no I'm not kidding! Scott Lee

Stolen cues alert! Lafayette LA last Monday night.

They said they had motion-activated cameras, and the police were supposed to follow up but I haven't heard anything yet. Scott Lee

Stolen cues alert! Lafayette LA last Monday night.

Literally impossible...they were custom made for me 20 years ago. I'll be back home in FL today, and start checking with my insurance, but like you, I am sick to my stomach over this. Scott Lee

Stolen cues alert! Lafayette LA last Monday night.

This is my first opportunity to get online and post this here. Last Monday night, in front of my room at the Red Roof Inn in Lafayette LA, someone got into my vehicle and stole my Garmin GPS and worse, stole my JBCases 4x8 full-zippered Orange ostrich leather cue case with all my cues in it...

    Dallas West

RC...That definitely elevates you to AzB "Legend" status! Dallas West was always a very cool man, and always a pleasure to watch! Hopefully a time will come soon where you can actually sit down and "chew the family fat" face to face! LOL Maybe even hit some balls together! Scott Lee 2019...

What is the most consecutive racks of 9 ball ever run?

Jack White played a guy for lots of marbles per game...and proceeded to run out 19 racks. The owner put up a plaque commemorating it and had Jack's Rambow cue in a plexiglass case above the plaque for years. This was in Sanford FL sometime in the 60's. Sadly many years later the bar burned...

    Pro players' "other" jobs

Thanks for correcting me "Gweenie Beenie"! LOL Gosh, has it only been 15 years? Seems like forever. Your dad really loved pool, and proved you could play well, and still conduct yourself like a gentleman. There were plenty of lowlifes around back then, but Bill certainly didn't hang much...
