Well you lurked for a while and jumped in anyway. Your either very brave or masochistic [like the rest of us]. Start at the shallow end and work your way in. Enjoy.
Moving on to your inquiry, I'm sure you thought you were asking a simple question that would get a simple answer. And you almost...
I bought 10 of the California's. I didn't know which side went down and I got it wrong the first time. Draw like crazy but glazed like glass. Flipped the next one over and I am impressed! Draws sweet! tip pick the edge and its a medium hard after you shoot it a while. 1$
I've had one on for well over a year. I really like them. As far as the glazing issue goes I got by that. I use a tip pick. Edge only. Oh, and I shoot 3 leagues a week and tourney on Sat. plus practice in my basement. I've also put several on friends cues and they like em 2. Hope that helps. Don
A couple days ago I started a thread called jump sticks in 14.1. I told you about my friend that used his jumper in our straight pool match. Well his name is Wayne[Sparkey] Hill and today he says he wants to change another rule in the game. He thinks it would make for a faster game [and maybe...
A little research found the company to be out of West Germany in the late 80's. I found a picture of a set of their balls for sale on Ebay. They do not have the "darts" on the numbers. I'm inclined think you have a set of centennials in a raschig box. They are asking $450 for the ones on ebay...
You mean like cheap cloth, 48' house cues with screw on tips, microwave hamburgers, paying for coffee and water, karaoke on league night, and non-existent waitresses? Nah, no changes here.
And thats what happened. A ball was hangin in the pocket. Although a safety was available, he took the easy jump. But I stiil contend it was a "bait fisherman" thing to do.:nono:
...The cue tip on any stick must be composed of a piece of specially processed leather or other fibrous or pliable material that extends the natural line of the shaft end of the cue and contacts the cue ball when the shot is executed.
Fibrous or pliable material indeed. Phenolic no, White...
I've enjoyed the input gentlemen. You all have valid points. It looks like it boils down to a case of the equipment overtaking the rules. WPA rules were written a long time ago and havn't changed to regulate or even ban the jump cue [ regardless of what the tip is made of]. I agree with Mr...
I felt Willie turn over in his grave yesterday! My friend pulled out his jumper and pocketed a ball in our straight pool game. WHAT?? Never seen any one do that and I think its illlegal but I don't see it mentioned in the rules.
And be aware that you need to roll it onto the roller evenly. Don't let a glob drip off the side of the roller onto the cloth ,it will soak through if you let it sit.[ It was perfect till I saw that ].
With all due respect to room owners. I know you have a lot of money invested in the equipment. But you rent them to customers to play pool on. Every shot marks the cloth, every time. So I come in, grab some balls and practice a 9ball break for 4 hrs. If there playing 9 ball on that table theres...
Any one ever been into the Jointed Cue in Sac town? Thats a pool hall. My room would look alot like it. An old grill with the menu on the wall with a curved counter and turn around stools. Snooker, billiards, and 9' GC's. Main room and a finals room with stadium seating. I'd put big pictures of...
