Can a soft tip be hardened while on the shaft?

The Cliffs Notes version would be appreciated... if you don't mind.

Can a soft tip be hardened while on the shaft?

I'd have my cue maker replace it with something I knew and liked, or one that he/she recommends. Like I've always said... Life is too short for smoking cheap cigars or hitting balls with a tip that you don't like.

F/S: Bob Frey 6-point cue with two shafts

Jump Cues.....what's the best out there right now.

I learned with the Bungee Jumper... learning the dart stroke method for short jumps... and using the tight grip method for longer jumps. It takes a lot of practice to become proficient. Using the dart stroke method and with the assistance of an innovative jump bridge my buddy designed and...

Bump for a great playing cue made by Bob Frey... a well-known disciple of Tim Scruggs. I can assure you that this cue plays just like all of...

Deflection as relating to tip size

When setting up, focus on the vertical imaginary centerline of the cue ball. Don't drop your elbow, stroke straight and you're on your way.

I may have one to sell. It's in brand new condition but was built (and signed) by Mike in 2007. I bought it from snowmon34 in the fall of 2007. I just re-established an online presence here at AZB after a hiatus of a number of years so I'm a bit out of touch on cue pricing. Let me know if...

    Ivory Cue Joints

Great post, Ken. I agree. My current custom (Dave Jones) player is currently configured with a.. G2 Medium tip, old Micarta ferrule, a Timeless Timber shaft (tapered to 12.4 mm), a flat-faced ivory joint, and with a brass radial pin. It hits and plays beautifully.

    Efryn,Beat this bum

Better. It's better when the comparison is between two alternatives. Three or more alternatives, it's best. Not picking on you, Kim... just a pet peeve that I couldn't resist commenting on.

    Music to Play Pool By

My preferred music to listen to while hitting balls on my re-calibrated rails blue logo 9' Pro Am in my remodeled garage is the blues... using my phone's mp3 player and bluetooth signal to drive my Bose SoundLink. Love the blues.

    9' or 7' table???

I disagree. I installed my 9' Pro Am in my garage and I play on it all the time. I will add, however, that I finished the garage... added insulation, sheetrock and a paint job... and also replaced the thin wooden garage door with a highly efficient, well insulated one. I also have a couple of...

    9' or 7' table???

I agree. The only thing that I would change is instead of Simonis 860, install 860HR. The difference between them is HUGE.

    Leaving Washington State soon...

Glen, Thanks for doing such a wonderful job on my table. You were right... I love how my table (9' Pro Am) plays after you re-calibrated the rails and installed 860HR. It plays like a dream. It's like I have a brand new table all over again. Thanks again, brother.

    Cleaning Simonas

Glenn and I were just talking about this yesterday. His advice is to use very hot water and Woolite shampoo. Use heavy rubber gloves so you can stand the hot water. You may want to send him a PM to confirm what I just shared with you.
